RE: Travis nichols
I have not had time to work more on the Nichols family. I will try and get to it as soon as time allows. I am sure my data all needs to be proven since I didn't do the research.
Sorry I can not be of more help. Good Luck with your research.

Abner Mapes Decker
I think Abner died Nov. 2, 1842, age 11 months, 15 days. If thats the case he was born on Nov. 18, 1841. I think these are the correct dates.

Yes, she married my grandmother, Monico Mathis' brother. His name was William Clint Mathis. We always called him Uncle Clint. We visited them in Mo. when I was a child back in the 1940's. I remember her as being a wonderful godly woman. One thing I will never forget, is one time we visited she had broken her arm and it had healed back crooked. I guess she did not see a doctor. Even then she was praising God for his goodness. A wonderful lady that I will never forget. She would have been my great aunt.

RE: St. John St Cemetery
Hi Pat. Good pick-up, I should have seen that about the date for Abner Mapes Decker. I got the date from cemetery transcriptions by Gertrude Barber in 1930. The death date for him is obviously wrong and probably was supposed to be 1841 instead of 1811. The transcription did say that he was the son of Dewitt and Emily Ann Decker. According to some family trees on ancestry.com, Dewitt is the son of Joseph Decker and AGNES Adams. Are they listed on findagrave?
I will be going to the cemetery as soon as the weather gets better and I will look for the Decker/Mapes gravestones. Unfortunately many of the old gravestones in that part of the cemetery are illegible now, so I don't know if I'll be able to straighten it all out or not, but I'll do my best. thanks again.

Hi, if you notice in the memorial, I named the contributor who was the source for the info I posted. You can contact that contributor with any questions you have as they are the ones who apparently did the research and provided me the bio info. Regarding them being from Virginia, it does say on the memorial that she was born in Virginia.
