John Mcwhorter
John Mcwhorter didn't have a middle name but his son did. Also, his son, Rev. William McWhorter didn't have a middle name either. His son, Dr. William David McWhorter did (my gg-grandfather).
I have the Bible Records from my McWhorter family and there is no documentation anywhere to show they had middle names. I inherited 355 old letters from 1800's to 1900's from my McWhorter clan - including from all of the above mentioned people. Rev. McWhorter never signed any of his letters or legal documents with a middle name of David. John didn't either (Bayles middle name was his son's).
I know this is confusing because so many names are the same and there has been a lot of information that isn't corrected perpetuated on the internet. I always try to help out by putting out factual information where due. Tricia

Myrtle Elizabeth Lovaas Pearson
Good Morning,
You manage the above mentioned memorial.
Are you a descendant or relation to this family?
Myrtle would be according to the relationship connection on Findagrave.com would be my 1st cousin twice removed . (While this is outside my current scope of actively updating these families "Ramstedt" I don't have Myrtle listed as a child of Alfred & Bertha) If you could send me a quick email or message that would be great and maybe you could help me verify my information.
Thank you,
Troy F (Calgary, AB)

William and China Ross Black
I am a 4th great granddaughter of William and China Ross Black through their daughter Martha Jane Black Farquhar. Martha Jane's daughter, Sally Farquhar Ferrell, her daughter, Eula Arena Witcher, my grandmother, Pearl Witcher Perry, my mother Martha Perry Stickley ( named for Martha Jane).
I have seen Black's Fort and know some things about it, my grandparents were from the area.
My mother grew up in Round Rock ( her father, O.F. Perry was Supt. of Schools ( 1931-1957). I know that China lived in a home in Round Rock at 607E Main street after I suppose that she was divorced from William Black around 1897.
I see that William Black remarried to Adeline Wilson Hammond around 1898.
China Black died in 1900 - I have wondered what happened? Divorce was pretty rare back then and she and William were in their 80's.

Pearson family in Edmonds Memorial Cem
Hi C-

I added an old picture I found of Doris to the memorial for Doris June Pearson, burial in Edmonds Memorial Cem - # 54163967.

This picture I took in 2011 is much better than the other but there was no more room to add pics without sponsorship and I didnt want to rob you of that :)

Let me know if there are pictures I can send via email of the larger files. I may have done that back in 2012, but just cleaning things up on my computer!

Happy 2017 to you and your family-

Tami

Howdy. On her page, it reads that her parents were William and Frances Caldwell . . . do we have any documentation on that? I haven't been able to find any information about them.

Sorry to see on Find A Grave that Jim had passed away. I am a member of the Bridges family on Jim's mother's side.
My g g grandfather and Jim's distant grandfather were brothers. I had communicated with him several times about our Bridges family.

RE: William Black #52183598
I don't believe Meachem was...Marinda, is actually her Aunt's name. (China Ross' sister) And greetings back to you, cuz. LOL

I'm about fly down to Texas to take my parent's to the Bagdad Cemetery Assn. Bbq, and afterward take them (particularly my father) by Black's Fort -- what we can see from the road that is, I know it's on private property. I can't believe we lived in Leander all those years (no longer do) and never ventured up there north of Bertram. And depending on time, we may visit William Black's grave in Lampasas...that is if I can find it! We have to drive through Lampasas to get to their home in DeLeon.

Best,
Kern Faubion

William Black #52183598
Find A Grave Memorial# 52183598 of William Black in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas has a picture of a book by W.P. Black called "War Sketches" which I assume is being accredited to him. He was actually the uncle of the author, of William P Black (W.P. Black) who actually wrote the book. If you read a pdf of the book, which I did, (here you can find it: https://ia600506.us.archive.org/21/items/warsketchestales00blac/warsketchestales00blac.pdf)

you will see he is mentioning his mother, Elizabeth BAIRD, and brothers Henry and Marion. These are siblings of the actual author William Black who is buried in Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma, USA. ((Find A Grave Memorial# 23929194) In the book he also mentions visiting his uncle William, in Texas which is THIS grave memorial.

I was interested because William Black in Lampasas is my 3xgreat grandfather, by his daughter Marinda Black Faubion (my 2xgreat grandmother).

Kind regards, Kern Faubion

You may want to remove the photo, for the book is by his nephew, not him. -- which I was disappointed to find out.

RE: Jim Fullilove
Thanks for responding! I'm so glad to hear that. If there were no plans that you knew of, I was going to try to get something going here myself. We would not have been able to match his wife's, but we would have done something. He was too important to us here to go without a headstone.

Do you know if anyone in the family is going to add a headstone for Jim Fullilove?

Jim Fullilove
I would like to fulfill your request for Jim Fullilove's headstone. Do you know the approximate area of the cemetery where he and his wife were laid to rest? If you or another family member could tell me which quarter (or smaller) area of the cemetery to look in it would really help. Thanks!

China Black
It is wonderful that you maintain this site. My 4th ggrandmother was China Ross Black. Do you have any other information about her. I know that she was married to William Black and they lived for a time at Black's Fort in Williamson County. I believe that she was living in Round Rock, Texas at the time of her death in 1900, at 607 E. Main street in a home which is still standing, but in poor condition.
Thank you,
Dinah Daugherty
