|C. Morgan||Mary Venable|
Hi, just wanted you to know I attempted to fulfill your request for a headstone picture. I visited Downey District Cemetery yesterday and was overwhelmed. My husband and I walked off rows for over a hour and didn't make a dent in the search. It has almost 3,000 graves, many of the headstones are very worn - hard to read, no one on site to help...without a plot number, etc. it is going to be almost impossible to find the grave.
I called the city this morning to request direction. Their database is down (hopefully be up in about a month), the only employee available to assist with such a request is part-time and when the database is up, she has other requests ahead of mine. Additionally, they don't have a very helpful map of the cemetery even after we get the plot number.
Sorry, but I'll keep trying. Hopefully you'll get a picture within the year.

I really appreciate you taking your time and energy to go and photo this grave marker. She was the sister-in-law to my grandmother. The photo's are 2nd best to actually visiting the gravesites, but certainly better than no visual picture at all.

Susan, Yes...please include that picture as well and in the meantime I'll try to figure out how she fits in. I assume his wife.

In the same area was an Alice Jeffers Jones, 8/20/1919 - 5/29/2010. She is buried closest to Willi Franklin. Is this one you might want also? If so, please let me know.

|Gayle Hennington Van Horn.||Arthur Seely Photo Request Problem|
Thank you for your email. I was aware that there was no marker present for Arthur Seely. I was hoping someone could take a photo of the plot area. I know it is near the edge of a road, near the curb. I am working on getting him a marker from the VA as he was a WWII veteran.

Thank you Susan for checking Bertha Ward for me. I'll cancel the request because it seems she doesn't have a headstone. Did you happen to take a photo of Roy Ward's headstone? I really appreciate all the work you've done and I was especially happy to learn her middle name was Belle, I never knew what the B stood for... thanks again.
