You're very welcome. Seems only a few Carleton headstones were covered in this family cemetery, but I've completed photographing the entire cemetery. Hopefully there's more family to find!

Bessie (Paulison) Hamilton
I read the story of your aunt. I fear the same has happened to my grandmother. I only found out about her 8 years ago.

She was taken away from her daughter (my mother) by her husband about 1931, my mom was 4 years old. She does remember when they took her screaming out of the house.

Mom did not tell me about my grandmother. I would love to know if my grandmother died at Ancora. She died in Sept of 1984. Her SS death says she died in Elwood. 29 years ago. She had two great-grand children and three grand daughters she never met.

On the 1940 census she was at Greystone Park Stat Hospital. She must have been moved at some time in the 60's or 70's.

Her name was Bessie Hamilton. Her maiden name was Paulison. She was born Aug 13 1899.

I have sent away for my birth certificate (long form) to prove my mom is mine so i can get my grandmothers birth and death certificate, next i will write to Greystone and Ancora to see WHY she was there. The story was told that her husband was a drunk and beat her, she kept running away from him to her mother (with my mom in tow).

My mom is 86 this year and memories are random and i'm not sure how accurate. I asked my mom how her family could just ditch her but that is what they did! I would love to find out if anyone ever visited her. I would have visited her had i known, which is probably why my mom didn't tell me. Lied to my entire life until i was 50 Years old. So sad.
I do remember mom telling me her mom would have loved me if she had known me. all my friends had awesome granny's and i had none!

I have not live in NJ for 30 some years, would love to see if there is a marker somewhere for her. I will look into that also. Thank you so much for sharing your story about your aunt, it have renewed my motivation to find out more! Joann Snowden

I've seen in the Forums that there are some real jerks working in some cemeteries around the country. However, I live in Montana, so can't help with that Photo Request. You'll have to send a message to whoever sent it to re-submit it, and you might mention the problem you had, too, so they can add a warning to their next request.

Your aunt jackie's grave
I work at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital and saw your post on I often visit our cemetery and wanted to give you some information. First and most important, Your Aunt Jackie's grave marker has been affixed to her grave--it has not been lost as you had feared. Under the direction of our Deputy CEO, our Maintenance Department has been working to keep up with maintenance to the cemetery. I am not sure when you visited last--Was the white vinyl fence there with the gate and the angel statues? We have also recently ordered a sign to be mounted at the entranceway to the cemetery.

There was a recent article on the Camden County Historical Society website that may be of interest to you. It speaks of our cemetery. Here is the link:

I just wanted to let you know that someone (me) does visit the cemetery and that there are people here who care about it and are not letting it be forgotten. If you would like I can stop by your loved one's grave and say a prayer in remembrance of her.

RE: # 94318488 - Thomas Luker, III

There are several references to his being buried there various places on the internet.... and we both know if its on the internet, it has to be right.... ;-)

Ok, you could not see that but I said that with a straight face...

Seriously though...

This is one of my "sources". It's long so it takes some searching, then you get to this:

Thomas [Tom] Luker. He was born 1794 in Toms River NJ. He died on 31 May 1879 in Woodmansie NJ. Burial Jun 1879 in Old Whiting Cemetary.

I had found the same sort of reference in several places, so I was accepting it as fact... even though there is no proof for any of those sources.

Hi, Cousin Ellie! Hope all is well with you. I'm afraid don't know where Gabe's parents or John are buried. I will link Gabe's wife Lucy, and his daughter's, Janice Warnett (whose funeral you attended) and Marion Augustine. I believe I still need to create entries for the daughters and their husbands here at findagrave. I do have photos of their headstones on however. What is there about "wrapping up" genealogy? - somehow we just never get completely finished. Take care, hope you can get up this way for another visit.

I've actually looked for Jason's grave a couple times and have not found him. He is not with or near the others I took. I could be just missing him; I'll keep looking when I am in that area!

Thank you for the delightful photos of Edward and Helen Scriven.
The group photo that you included on both records has roused my curiosity. Can you tell me who the other two grave stones are for and what info was on them?

The Kositch's in ANC
I've posted the photos for you of the stones for LT Margaret Kositch and COL Alexander Kositch. As the stone is new for both of them, I deleted the photos of the old stone for COL Kositch and replaced them with photos of his new stone.
Thank you for your patience, the stones have been taking a while and the weather has not been too cooperative!

The memorial number is for Agnes Kozic not Rudolph; I double checked Rudolf's though and the dates are correct.
There are 3 Kozic on the Stone

You're very welcome, glad I could do it for you. Thank you for your message! I've made a note to go back after your Aunt Margaret is buried with him this winter and their stone is redone. Thank you.
