Yes I did. The pictures came through just fine. Sorry for a slow reply. We were out of town Sunday, and I didn't have my phone.

We are planning a trip to Vanderbilt and Heavens soon. Do you need us to take some pictures for you?

Okay. But is there anything else that would give us any clues as to where he is buried??

Do you have any idea why he died so young; at just 27 years old??

My wife has an older sister who remembers driving their Mother, Ada Holt Brumley, to Wilburton to visit with Lizzie, his wife, before she passed away in the 1940's, but the older sister can't remember her ever talking about how their Grandfather died. The only man they remember Lizzie being married to was her third husband, Mose Harper. They all called him Gran Pa, because he was her husband at the time.

Are there any older members of the family that might know any of this??

Would you by chance have any photographs in your records of common ancestors from the Holt, Rickey, or Wisdom family that you would be willing to share electronically??

I hate to be a bother, but I am just trying to fill in some holes that I can't find the answers to otherwise.

Have you had a chance to look in your records concerning this William L. Holt?

If you do get a chance, could you see if you have anything that might explain the age discrepancy?

Have you ever seen a picture of this man with an y other members of your family?

I have the 1900 census which definitely shows a 18 year old Wm.Holt living with Francis and Ellen Holt in the Indian Territory, but that 42 year entry on the marriage license is something that I can't explain.

RE: william l holt
My wife is the Granddaughter of Ada Bell Holt Brumley. Ada was the oldest child of W.L. Holt and Rachel Elizabeth (Lizzie) Wisdom Holt.

This would make William L.Holt m wife's Great, Great, Grandfather, if W.L. Holt and William L. Holt is the same man.

Any idea as to the cause or death, or his burial location??

RE: william l holt
Thanks for the quick reply. My question about William L. Holt is this. I have a copy of the marriage license for Lizzie Wisdom and a W.L. Holt dated 1904. I have a relative that has in her family tree records that this W.L. Holt is the same man as this William L. Holt.

My problem is this. The marriage license plainly shows that the W.L. Holt mating Lizzie Wisdom in 1904 is 42 years of age. This would make his date of birth to be in 1862 or so, not 1882, as is in the records in FindAGrave. Could you please clarify this if you can??

Also; I cannot find any death record, or place of burial for this William L. Holt. Do you have any death or burial record??

If this 1882 birth date is correct, and the 1909 death date is correct, then that would put his age at death as approximately 27. Pretty young. Do you know how he died. Accident?? Murder??

If the 1862 birth date is correct, then his age at death would be 47. That's more understandable.

Any information that you could provide me would be greatly appreciated.

I am researching my wife's family tree, and trying to determine if she has Indian ancestors. He oldest aunt told her that Lizzie's husband is where the Indian blood comes into the family. Do you know if this man was part Indian?

The age of W.L. Holt on the marriage license is what is causing me the most doubt.

Thanks for your help.

RE: goldia hadaway
You put the note about Delbert Ray Hadaway's mother being Cleo Smith. That is correct.

His father was Garland L Hadaway (# 59981913). The page for Delbert Ray is still showing Delbert Lee Hadaway as the father.

RE: goldia hadaway
Thanks, I had quite a time figuring that out yesterday. It appeared for a while that there were 2 women named Goldia Hadaway born in the same year. I finally found that the one buried in Kilgore,TX had the maiden name of Hawkins.

I edited the memorial pages for the real Goldia Hadaway and her husband Gregory Edison Brown. Those pages were automatically transferred to me to maintain.

I have another pending fix. The father of Delbert Ray Hadaway (# 59981911) was Garland L. Hadaway (# 59981913).

Thanks again, David

Phillip Battenfield
Hi. In regards to Phillip Battenfield's memorial, #54792311. I came across his and Mary's info because I have been digging into my mother's biological family which includes Francis Terrell who is Mary's brother. I found Phillip's death certificate and he actually died in Lubbock County, Texas. The only thing that makes sense is he moved back to Texas after Mary's passing in 1925 to be closer to family ('cause they're in New Mexico in the 1920 census but in Texas with son Thomas in 1910). According to the certificate, his body was sent to New Mexico (presumably so he could be buried near Mary; I don't know the exact plot locations). Daughter Eliza was the one that submitted the info for the certificate, she's listed as "Mrs J W Kirby". So just a little info to update on his page :) I've come across it a handful of times in my own research of all my family tree branches and Dad's come across it on the family he's researching; just because they're buried somewhere doesn't mean they died in that same state.
