so these men died in the world wars and were buried in Cape Town? I will phone on Tuesday when they are open and ask for help finding the graves. It is a huge cemetery. Stretches on and on!

OK, let me see what I can do. I am in Cape Town in Woodstock not far from Maitland and also very interested in war graves - British Army background. Are these photos for your records or for fam members?

Thank you for the photos of the engraved names of the two U.S. Navy Armed Guards listed below:
Seaman First Class Oscar Pardew and Seaman First Class John Pinizotto, both on the Samuel Heintzelman when it was torpedoed and sunk in the Indian Ocean in 1943.
Your work is of great value, in particular to those whose loved one was 'lost', whose remains were not recoverable.

I believe their is no greater honor on find a grave than to photo a Veterans headstone and enter information for their memorial, especially as a volunteer. Thank you for taking your time to gather and enter information for this brave soldier. His family and community back here in Sibley County, Minnesota are proud of his service.
