William Arthur Stokes Cementery
Hi Tonie,

Take 475 South and when you get to the sign that says Hartley Bridge Road Exit(pull over in front of the exit sign) you will see a green sign that says Stokes Cementery posted on the fence along the interstate. Me and my husband had the sign made and posted it on the fence to mark where the cementery is located.
William Arthur Stokes was my great, great grandfather on my mother's side.

Hope this is helpful.

Mildred Sasnett
Thanks very much for adding the obit to Mildred's memorial page. The time and effort is greatly appreciated. It also inspires me to reciprocate in kind when circumstances allow me to be of help to others.
Were there no birth and death dates for either Mildred or her husband, Rufas, on the headstone?

Thanks again, Joe Sasnett

RE: Frances T. Cofield
According to some census, George Smith was her first husband and they had 4 children, two of which were Henry, Julia, John T, and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smith. Frances had Alice Cofield by James Berry Cofield after George was killed in the Civil War. James died right after Alice was born in 1870.

John Mallory Land
Boynton Cemetery, Talbot County, GA
Hi - I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't locate the cemetery. However, I have never been to it or attempted to locate it myself. The description of its location that I posted comes from the source I cited and includes all the information I could glean that seemed relative to where it is situated. The Davidson book (Vol. III), which was published in 1988, does include a photo of the cemetery and a couple of grave monuments, which I will scan and send you. I consulted the book of Talbot County cemeteries compiled by Jack Morgan and Irby Cook but found no mention of this cemetery or the graves it contains. I hope the cemetery has not been destroyed. I will let you know if I'm able to find any other reference to it. Are you kin? These are my relatives. Thanks - jml

Nancy Talton Courtenay
RE: Boyntons in Talbot County, GA
Hi Tonie,
Thanks so much for the message. My gggggrandfather was Moses Boynton, Sr. 1770-1852 (d. Talbotton, GA). His son Moses, Jr. left Talbotton and settled in Panola Co., Texas. We live in Athens, GA and I have tried to visit Talbotton, but family illness has prevented travel since I found out about the cemetery. I am told the Boynton Plantation is still standing, but I'm not sure of that. I would absolutely be grateful to you for photos of the Boynton cemetery. Please tell me Lucretia Boynton's parents' names, because I do not have her in my tree. Thanks again, Nancy

RE: Lee W. Boynton
Thanks, I've updated the memorial to reflect that info. The T.E. Boynton name was listed on the death index as his father rather than seeing it on the actual certificate. (I've changed it to read as such). Sometimes the informant's statements on the death cert's are incorrect or sometimes the indexes transcribe the info wrong. But regardless, I've listed both sources of information. Louisiana has a privacy policy that death certificates are not available to the general public as per someone I spoke to at the State records branch in Shreveport last year as well as what I remember reading on the Baton Rouge website so, I have no way to see what the actual death cert has written on it. I was told you have to present some proof of being family in order to obtain a copy etc etc. On the memorial I also added some details about the other 2 younger siblings seen in the 1880 census named Lindsey. I also, found a Shreveport City directory that shows Lee W Boynton with what appears to be a spouse named Maude E.

Thanks again
