Elisabeth Ann Meek Floyd
May I use the wonderful pictures and obituaries that you have for Elisabeth Meek Floyd in the Snyder family tree? She is a direct descendant of John Snyder, one of the original Snyder family who settled the Barnes'Ridge area, as is my husband. He grew up less than a quarter mile from Allen's Chapel Cemetery and helped dig a few graves there (by hand)when he was a teenager.
I am trying to put together a history and family tree for the Snyders and have found much useful info here on Find-A-Grave for them and my family also. Thanks to all who volunteer and list this info. I have contributed a few memorials, but mainly for my immediate family.

Brad Foster
Possible relative
Hi,

I've recently created a memorial (160112322) for Susanna Salzgaber which I assume may be a relative of yours.

The 'S' is missing from the stone, but considering there are no Alzgabers in all of Find A Grave, I'm guessing the 'S' has been lost. The marker appears to have been part of the original 'Stone Church' which originally sat on the site.

Hope you are able to make a connection!

I was wondering about her name as Mary also. Maybe it was a middle name, but she was always Mayme in the newspaper articles.

I found them!
I was looking for their daughter Frances Crandall & found her and she was linked to her parents. The reason I couldn't find them before was because the name is spelled Sa"L"tzgaber.

RE: Salzgaber
I made memorials for Baird & Mayme Salzgaber today and put the info on there that I found in the newspapers. I don't have a cemetery name for them but the obit does tell where in Indiana they were buried. Lebanon, Indiana.

William Young
Hi Ralph ~ hoping you can help me out. You've posted info about William Young ~ can you tell me if the information: Son of John Young and Sarah Rogers, husband of Susan Gay, Father of John and Adam, was off his stone?

In my other research, I show him to be married to Ann Smith, while his son Adam, was married to Susan Gay.

If your data is right, you've just solved a huge headache for me!

Thanks!

Salzgaber
Did you know you are the only person that has Salzgaber's listed in the whole U.S.? I was researching the surname Tipton in the old KY newspapers when I came upon a Mayme Tipton married to Baird G. Salzgaber in Mt. Sterling, KY. I was looking for when her mother died and got a shock when I saw the story of Baird killing his wife and then himself in Indiana. I was going to make memorials for them but it never mentioned the name of the cemetery. Have you come across the name Baird Salzgaber in your research?

I found a Minnie L. E. Jackson in the Abbey... the only thing close to your request for Lavenia Elizabeth Jackson. The death date matches but the birth does not. If this photo is incorrect, let me know.

Pipe Creek Cemetery
I just visited this cemetery. It's rather small. The grass is cut, but I suspect some of the old tombstones are missing. You have a number of photo requests for Meek, Dent and someone else. I'll check my photos, but they may no longer have a stone, here.

Now, I did find several Meek and Dent tombstones at Mount Zion Cemetery, Belmont Co. I don't know that I photographed any of them. I'll review the 140 photos I took.

There's also a DENT Cemetery further up Pipe Creek. I think I posted a few photos. I tried to post one per surname. Most of these stones are badly weathered.

I research my Belmont Co. Giffen / Giffin family members and try to visit these cemeteries when time permits.

I'm curious as to the "source" that placed to "requested photo" names at the Pipe Creek, aka: Schroeder Cemetery.

The MyFamily - Belmont Co. site is also a wealth of information. It's a free, private site.

RE: Salzgeber at Green Lawn
I already added a bunch of new memorials, but I haven't taken photographs. Feel free to request photos for any of interest, Gradually working down the backlog of photo requests (down to 150, from 230+ two weeks ago). Also glad to transfer them, too, if you'd like.

Will work on her tomorrow. Went into the office to see where on the map she was and even walked both phases of the mausoleum. Huge area, but good exercise! Have to walk it again - didn't see her. She is in Chapel Gardens Mausoleum Phase II by the way.
