Lilligs are related to me via marriage
and I had John Lillig b.1815
as born in Niederzerf, Trier-Sarzburg, Rhienland-Pfalz, Germany
and married Margaretha Waeltz
Any idea on the discrepancy?

|Timothy Lehigh||Caroline Webster|
A couple of years ago I walked the Red Rocks Cemetery. I ran across two headstones in which one read "CW" and possibly her husband "JW". These headstones where located in the middle of the cemetery. I was wondering if they could be Caroline Lehigh who married John Webster.
Is it possible for you to find these headstones?
I did not take a picture of these headstones (don't ask me why)..

Hi, I have done as you requested.
The round thing at the top right of her marker--is the Section Marker for that section. In most cases, they are gone. Sue

Hi, I just wanted to ask you if you are aware that are 2 different memorials for the above person? I did photograph her and have put it on one of them.
Also, wondering about Shelhamer and Taylor. Taylor is her maiden last name, so Shelhamer is another married name?
Thanks for your help on this, Sue

|Linda Mac||Lena Bank|
I have a photo of the stone in the Minneapolis Jewish Cemetery for Lena Bank, but I have not uploaded it as the stone reads "1879 - 1936", a different birth year but the same death year than the memorial that you have created. There is also a MN Death record for Lena Bank, wife of Charles Bank, with a death date of August 2, 1936 but again, the birth year is 1879. If you would like me to send you the picture of the stone and you can decide if it is a match, please let me know. I do not plan to create another memorial for this stone unless someone confirms there were two women named Lena Bank that died in 1936.

I hope you are enjoying your trip and having luck finding all the information you are looking for. Drop me a line sometime and let me know if there is anything I can help you with. It was nice to meet you (and your husband), brief though it was!

Do you have an email I can send you a message at? I don't post mine online (darn spambots, etc) so I don't like to leave it on public forums. Send me an edit request for the "suggest any other edit or suggestion" field on any of my memorials with an email address I can reach you at and I'll message you when I get it. Thanks! Wish F.A.G. made it easier to contact others when they don't want their email addresses out there for the world to see. ;)

|StacieND||RE: Multiple transfer requests|
Thanks for the reply back. :) I find the more memorials that I enter, the more I run into people that give the majority on here a bad name, unfortunately. It used to be that I'd transfer non-relatives (not in my direct line) to anyone if they were close to the deceased (friend, cousin, sister of a sister-in-law). It didn't matter. Until I ran into a few people who were "collecting". One in particular, collecting the "Algeo" surname all over the place. I only found that out later when a direct family member contacted me requesting a transfer and I found out this individual just wanted to amass ALL the Algeo surnames in the US. Oy. I've had people argue over who is more closely related to someone so they could manage the memorial. I've had people request transfers and then delete the memorial I added so they could re-add it under their own name. I love sharing information. Updating and linking memorials. I've been working on loads of them over the last few weeks instead of being outside and enjoying the end of our very short ND summer. I don't mind doing edits at all when people are good enough to contribute. I've just been burned so many times and gotten some really nasty messages from people regarding transfers. Hope you can understand why I asked about the relationship information. :)
I'm a board member on the historical society here and I truly receive no greater pleasure from Find a Grave than having a family member contact me excited that a cold trail had suddenly come alive again due to information that I entered. I've been trying to update as many memorials from this area that I can with biographies, dates, etc. It's a labor of love. I even got to meet an octogenarian who traveled all the way from the state of Washington this summer just to visit her grandfather's grave...all because she found him on Find a Grave. THAT made all the bug bites and sore typing fingers worth it.
Feel free to send edits and I will be happy to do the updates. If you do run across direct lines anywhere, let me know and I will do transfers. I have ancestors from the Maine area and really need to do more searching in some of the cemeteries out there. I'm so grateful for all the volunteers. I'll probably never have the means to make cemetery trips out to the east coast. Find a Grave has helped so much.
Thanks again for the response back. Didn't intend to ruffle feathers. I was replying back to that from work and it was a very hectic day.

|StacieND||Multiple transfer requests|
Could you let me know your relationship to all of the transfer requests? There are quite a few, these are older memorials and I know several people who are related to these line who have been bickering over management. (They're "collecting" memorials) Thanks! :)

Please remove your photo. Chalking headstones - especially marble ones from the 19th century - is never a good thing and Find A Grave prohibits posting photos of the result.

Thank you so much for both the photos and the transfers of James & Irene Drinkwater.

The dates on his headstone are correct. They are the dates I have in my family tree. I just typed them in wrong when I set up the memorial. Thanks for catching my error. I have made the corrections.

Its no problem. It will take less than 10 minutes to take the photo & relabel it. I drive by the cemetery coming home from work. I am more than happy to do it.

I already deleted the photo. I drive by the cemetery on my way home from work. As long as i get there before 5:45 I can easily get another photo. Its no problem. Glad the Scotty name was resolved.

I did notice & rhought it odd. I'm glad you called. Since Indo not know them I would not know details of their lives. The cemetery isn't fond of genealogy & I avoid the words Find A Grave. I was going to transfer both memorials & now I will transfer just "Jim"'s. it will likely be tomorrow night when I get home.

You are welcome. There was no stone for Norma. I noted on her memorial headstone caption. I will add it to the captions of Jim & Scotty.

I noticed that you added a photo to her husband's memorial(Elmer Louis Meissner (24959981). They have now reset his headstone beside the recently added headstone of Martha's (121471852). I thought if you were a relative that you may want to see her headstone.

I went back and did some further checking and I found Clarence Harry Aston that she was married to. That's very similar to the name Clarence Ashton. I'll connect Hazel to Clarence Aston and the other husbands now. Thanks for your help.

I was getting ready to add Clarence Ashton as her first husband but I noticed that he was married to Hazel Bryce Ashton, #20939151. I think we're talking about two different Hazels. Let me know what you think.
