RE: Sylvester Butts
Hi Lanette,
I was cleaning out old messages on findagrave.com and I came across yours from 2010 and thought I'd reply again now that we know a lot more about my wife's ancestry.
Sylvester Butts was my wife's maternal grandfather. The Alexander Austin Wood in your memorials is a full sibling of Sylvester's mother Lillian (Wood) Butts-Klinkel. Both are children of Alexander Wood and Mary (Bois) Wood who are buried in Elkader, Iowa.
I'm sure my wife would like to have contact with you.

You are welcome - it was on the same page of another obit we were searching for. You have a great connection. Do you know where sister Meril that says she died in 1905 is buried?

Re: photo request for Howard A Walters
Hello! Today I photographed and posted the grave stone photo for Howard Walters. Resting to his right is Jessie Lumsden Walters, 4/3/1898-5/2/1987. Perhaps this is Walter's spouse? I posted her grave photo on her memorial.

I think they did try him. But with everything they had found they judged him innocent. The ladies testimony is what really did it as she wasn't with him when she gave the account, but that it fit perfectly with his. Yes, he was truly lucky she was with them.

RE: PS
There was another lengthy article on it Lanette, that I didn't post as it would be too much. It is as long as that one, but it just says how they found the father innocent, etc. I was wondering if you might like a transfer of him?

RE: # 86357557 S. Brink
I am betting his name was on top of the stone. It was laying, recessed into the ground and hard to see.

I think you are right Lanette! I enlarged the photo(back then the size was more restricted) and can see Son of W.H. & ? Brink. Thank you!

Yes, it was difficult and as you can see I cheated on the 2nd or 3rd try.

His wife's obit states Alma City Cemetery, but I found the tombstone in Peace U.C.C.

RE: Josiah Walters
Also, it appears Josiah's oldest son, Alexander, died in Washita County, OK about a month before this Josiah in Texas. The locations are about 350 miles apart.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I am still learning my way around this site.

This was the only Josiah Walters I found where the dates fit. I am hoping it is him but then we have to figure out why a man of that age was in Texas - so far from home. Perhaps he was visiting someone and passed away?

I am descended from Josiah's son, Aaron. I would love to share information on this line. Josiah is as far back as I can get on this line. I did not know his wife was a Hoover. Thank you :)
