|Shirley Hart Dillingham||RE: H. D. Adams #6666286|
Hello Ludie ~ Thank you so much for contacting me with information to add to the Memorial for Hobson Dewey Adams in Gilmer City Cemetery. I have added same.
If you would like a transfer, I would be happy to do so. I am always happy to transfer any memorial I have to family members, provided I am not also related & in this case, I am not. If so, please use the "edit/suggest a transfer" tab on the memorial.
Have a great weekend ~ Shirley Dillingham

Yes, we met many years ago when we found my husbands grandmother Sarah Adams Kirkpatrick Walker and your Adams were connected.
Your friend, Madaline,your good friend, was connected to me ~~ we shared and researched for a number of years.
It is so good to make connections again!

Thank you Ludie. I will get to work on it. Do you have any other Kirk family photos? Another Irish family of mine is the Kennedys, also from Sulphur Springs. My Great Grandmother Stella Kennedy Married Russell Kirk.
Glad you like the photos. I found that picture of the Circa 1910 Kirks, in my Dad's photo trunk. All the names were written in worn pencil on the back.

I noticed that one of Ora's kids is not listed. Willis A. Kirk b. 1903 d. 1918. He's buried in Union Cemetery also. I don't know how to add him. Also for Thomas George b. 1906, I have his name written on the back of a family photo as Goode T. Kirk. I don't know who wrote the names on the back of the photograph.

|Russell Pierce||Thank You|
I just want to say thank you for making memorials and passing on valuable information concerning my ancestors and relatives. I found your memorial of Matthew B. Kirk and D.R. Hulda and got really excited! For the first time I had a picture of my Gx3 Grandfather and a story! My Kirk line is through my Paternal Grandmother Adelle Ann Kirk. Her father was Russell Silas, His Father was Matthew L. and his father was Matthew B. Kirk. My Great Grandmother used to tell us stories about Matthew B. saying that he was a "Hell fire and Brimstone" preacher. A real tough guy! I've been working on my family tree since I was a teenager but until the advent of the internet, was not able to get too far. Anyway, thanks again and if you have any other info to pass on about the Kirks please let me know. My email is email@example.com

|Jeanetta||Step and Lela Roberts|
Thank you for making the correction on Step Roberts memorial page and for transferring Lela Roberts memorial page to me. I have added her siblings names and the marriage date for Martha Kirk and William G. Teal. Thank you again.
Added by Jeanetta on Apr 19, 2015 11:03 PM
Can a correction be made to Find a Grave on the Step Roberts and Martha Teal connection? The line that reads "By 1900 Martha had married Step Roberts" is wrong. This is referring to Martha Ann Teal. Step Roberts was never married but once and that was to Lela Kirk Roberts. Martha Ann Kirk Teal was the mother of Lela Kirk Roberts so she was the mother-in-law of Step. She was first married to James William Kirk (they had 3 daughters, Laura Arabella Kirk, Minnie Kirk and Eulalia 'Lela" Kirk) and second she married William G. Teal (they had sons Tom and Jim Teal). Thank you.

Step & Lela are my grandparents. I would love to talk with you about the Kirk family history. We never knew much about Lela Robert's family, except for the one sister, Minnie. She was very young when her father died and I don't think she knew much about him. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Please contact me.

Glad to link them! Has anyone realized that Barbara and Elizabeth's birthdays are both 1811? One in February and one in April. If you are able to find out which is wrong, let me know. If it is Barbara, I will be happy to change it. Thanks.

Thank you so much Ludie for transferring my grandmother's memorial over to me and thank you for all that you do and have done for Find A Grave.

You mentioned about the lettering being almost the same as the stone itself. It is absolutely impossible to photograph a black granite marker without getting yourself in the photo! So aggravating

As best I can remember - the Hill markers were located in the middle of the cemetery. Don't know if that helps you any. On the older markers I spray them with water & brush them in an attempt to be able to better read them.

I sure dont. I have never gotten down to that part of Texas and dont have any idea how big the cemetery is. I am sure it is very large though.
If I can get the office to give me the plot i will send it to you. It will be tomorrow before I can call.
Thanks so much
