RE: Elafair Cartwright
Hi Joe,

I'm so glad to see that Elafaire has been located. I do not understand how husband Mike and I could have missed her in two trips. The marker looks very clean and not because it's been recently cleaned. All I can say is that we must have had some idea about it looking older or something and therefore we just didn't see her. Really glad that she's been found though. So nice of you to thank us when we weren't successful. Maybe we'll be more successful the next time we try to find one for you.

Ella Fair Cartwright
I found her grave marker at the Jay Cemetery. If you come into the main entrance of the cemetery, to the far left almost in the front of the cemetery with an upright marker and foot stone, she is there. Here marker is next to a couple of a Sorrell families markers. I took photos of those as well. I have uploaded two photos for the Find A Grave. Ella's name on the marker is ELLA FAIR.

RE: Elafaire Cartwright
Hi Joe,

Husband Mike has found the photo of the similar marker and we think that we might be able to locate the marker for Elafaire by this comparison but it may not be legible. When we are next in that area we'll go by and give it another try.

RE: Elafaire Cartwright
Hi Joe,

This information may help. If it was a flat marker it may have grass covering it. We'll take the plumber's probe with us the next time and see if we can find her. Was it this same sort of stone? Polished granite? If you saw her marker there then she must be there and we'll give it another look.

RE: Elafaire Cartwright
Hi Joe,

I regret to have to tell you that we went to the Jay Cemetery yesterday to search for and photograph the grave of Elafaire Cartwright and we could find no Cartwright graves. Did you tell me that you'd seen this grave years ago? If so could you describe it to me or tell me what area of the cemetery you might have seen this? We didn't report it as a problem or ask that the request be removed. It is entirely possible that we missed her grave because there are about a dozen graves there that had illegible markers but we spent about an hour on it and I think we gave it a good search but we failed. If you could give us any more information that might help us to help you we'd be happy to give it another try.

RE: Elafaire Cartwright
Hey Joe,

We'll probably get up there one day this week. We've got several requests claimed in the Cora Cemetery which is nearby. Thanks for getting her memorial page ready.

RE: Elafaire Cartwright
Hi Joe:

We did a little cemetery stomping yesterday and cleared out quite a few photo requests but I see that my husband has about 7 claimed in Jay for our next outing. Can I suggest to you that you go on and make that memorial page for Elafaire? We don't usually do many cemetery runs on Sunday but my husband may get a day off this week and we could make that run up to Jay. You need to keep in mind that what you see on Find A Grave is not a transcription of any cemetery but rather submissions by volunteers so the listings for most cemeteries will not be a complete listing for the burials in any cemetery unless they get submitted. There are some volunteers out there that record entire cemeteries and that is so great.

John Pounds
Father's Grave Site.
Dear Joe,

First, I would like to thank you for all the help you gave me in my search for my father's grave site.
After looking at the pictures all I want to do is sit down and cry. Every person that I should the pictures to were lost for words and they all said the same thing, they have never seen such a beautiful cemetery before, that includes me too.

Again I wanted to say thank you for your time and effort in helping me to find his grave site.

Thank you,

John Pounds son

God Bless You

RE: Ella F Cartwright Photo
Hi Joe,

We were glad to be able to help. Give us a little while longer and we'll finish uploading all the Cartwrights that we found. There were quite a few. It's raining here right now and the electricity has gone out. Computer is on the back up battery.
