John L Burch & Judith Southern
Hello, I am trying to find some proof of two people's parents, John Lawrence Burch to William Burch, and Judith Southern to Magdalene Faure/Ford. Have you seen any docs/books that confirm this? thank you.

RE: Susannah Baber & Judith Southern Burch
Thanks for replying. Don't be embarrassed; I would love for them to be sisters too. I've proved one ancestor, Roxie Gregory-Pearson, to be my ggg grandmother through the DNA thing. I matched up, genetically, with a cousin who has a documented line to Roxie. Roxie lived in Greene County. I'm hoping for another cousin who matches up with me who is a descendant of Susannah, and there are many of them. I'll be sure to let you know if I find that special cousin.

Judith Burch and Susannah Baber
Beth, were did you get the info that Susannah Baber is the sis of Judith Southern Burch. I was just researching Catherine Whiles (AKA Katie Wiles) Baber who married Robert Baber s/o William Baber h/o Susannah. I got a hunch (it's a very old hunch) Katie Wiles Baber is the sis of my ggg grandmother Phema Wiles Dover on my Mom's side. Judith is my ggg grandmother on my Dad's side. My MtDNA haplogroup is T1a1. I would like to take that back further. I almost fell off my chair when I saw your note on Judith's Memorial. BTW I already know all about her mother being a French Huguenot.

Old Mitchell Cemetery
Beth, We live in Colorado but in a visit to Bedford last spring found a reference to the cemetery you mention in Jacob's memorial # 76933327. "Located on the Dennis Trowbridge farm at Peerless. Recorded by Jessie Thomas and Bernice Martin, April 28, 1965. Stones were broken, scattered and some were being used as stepping stones at the house." A short list followed. Mostly Levi's family (Jacob's Uncle) I believe this is the location of many of our family members. Perhaps if you are close by you might investigate further. Please let me know what you find.

RE: Wiley Burch photos
Beth, All of the Burch photos were my mother's (Opal Marie Morahan Tobler). She had written who they were on the back and I remember seeing the photos since I was a child. However, the only source for where the blacksmith shop was came from Frank (George Franklin Burch), my mother didn't know. Frank's father was Thomas Mitchell Burch. Thomas' brother was Joseph Wesley Burch who was a blacksmith in Bokoshe, Le Flore, Oklahoma and my mother's grandfather. Frank went to live with his uncle for awhile and worked in the coal mines in Bokoshe. My mother was also living there with her grandparents at that time and they remembered each other from then. I took my mother back to Missouri in 1988 and we met Frank. I asked him about the blacksmith shop and he said that it was in Hot Springs and I wrote it down in my notes. *** When I just now went back to check my notes, I remembered that Frank and his son had written me some letters after our visit. He had told me that he was going to try and find the old blacksmith shop picture that he had. In one of the letters he said that he couldn't find the picture but described it and said that his grandfather, Wiley, was wearing a white apron and he said that the shop was in Eureka Springs. I guess because they are so similar, it never registered when I read the letter. Hot Springs was in my notes. Since Frank is no longer here, I will blame it on him. So it is Eureka Springs. I will change my records. Charles
