RE: Lucy Akers
Lucy,

Yes, there was either a tombstone that broke with time or if the tombstone lay flat on the ground, it might now covered with dirt. Or it may have been just a Funeral Home metal marker that is now gone. Anyway, the area of the grave is known, but I could not find any kind of marker at the site.

There are no records of who owns the burial plots of land due to a fire many years ago that destroyed the records. So locations of the graves were only identified by markers of some kind. The first comprehensive listing of the markers being done in 1967. Two other comprehensive listings were completed later, the last one is one I did in 2001. But I did not list which tombstones I could not find when I compiled the updated list.

Lucy M. Akers tombstone
Phil,

I have added a picture of the area where Lucy Akers tombstone was in 1967 when Richmond Cemetery was first surveyed. However, I could not find the tombstone where the stone should have been (#709)when I went to the Richmond Cemetery on Sept 11, 2014. I'm sorry that I could not completely fulfill your request.

The caption on her tombstone was: "Lucy M. Akers, died Aug 10, 1893, wife of J T. Akers, age 26 yrs, 3 mo, 19 da."

Coringtons
Hey Phil,
I didn't see the one Coringtons on my e mail till the other day, I'm sorry it took so long to transfer, I haven't been on my mail for a while. I have had a uncle and a first cousin pass away in December within a week apart, then my hubby had surgery, so it's been a bad month. I'm sorry I missed the e mail.
