Memorial #48692183
Seeking additional information on Peter Carr Wheeler's daughter Mary Jane Wheeler (1858-1949). Have found conflicting information on whether her husband was John Andrew Jackson Wheeler (#126318350)or John W. Wheeler (#58841999). The reason for my research is to trace the linage of Mary Leon Wheeler Jordan (1886-1963) (#1909059) whose mother is shown as being Mary J. Wheeler.

Also could you provide more information on the following book/source?

Source: Blair Wheeler 6718 Susan Drive Loveland, OH 45140

Thanks so much for your help.

H. H. Talley
Hi Lynette,

The cemetery where Hamilton Talley is buried, at the present time is being fenced in and cleaned up. The last burial there was in 1907, and since then the cemetery was abandoned and very neglected.

I have about 9 relatives buried there, along with my great-grandfather Ladson F. Hickman, his two sons that both died at age 27, and others.

Most, if not all of the tombstones have been knocked down and cattle have been tramping through the graves for over 100 years now. Tis a wonder if any of the stones survived this long a time.

Actually, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (Graves Restoration project) is now trying to do what should have done many years ago. Since a lot of the people buried there are "part" Choctaw and maybe some full-bloods, they have now taken an interest in restoring these abandoned cemeteries.

I'm anxious to see if they will also repair the broken tombstones and place them all in the correct upright position. Will wait and see. When they finish all their work, I'll return and get another photo of Hamilton H. Talley's grave stone.

I only live about 10 miles from the cemetery, so it will be no problem.

Hamilton's tombstone was laying on the ground, and was not broken, not sure of the base, but should look OK in an upright position.

Anyway, have a nice day.

Talley graves at Folsom cemetery
Hi Lynette,

I have added the gravestone for Martha Talley and her infant child from the Folsom cemetery.

They evidently were the wife and child of H. H. Talley.

Were the Talley's related to you?

Regards, Milton
