Hi, I've been away for several days but started working on the family cemeteries for you. Thru research I found 7 which have Cherry's in them. I have to return to library to take copies of the records and then add to findagrave. Charlotte

If you find out where the stone might have been placed, I can go back and take a picture of that area. There were a lot and I mean a lot of places missing stones, lots of them you couldn't even read and a lot broken off so you know there was a tombstone there. It's a shame that the cemetery stones weren't better taken care of over the years. Thanks for letting me know you are looking into it.

Yes, I have been trying to figure out "family" cemeteries from the death certificates by seeing where relatives are buried and by checking at the library. It's a frustrating job.

When a volunteer in the 1980s did a cemetery survey, he listed the oldest person he found in cemetery as the name of the cemetery.

I'll look in the library to see. It's a common name among white citizens; not as common for blacks. I'm currently working on neglected black cemeteries in the area. Did you do a search for surname "Cherry" in Beaufort Co. Charlotte

I did find one source that had the burials listed but it was old, and i havent found out exactly how old yet. Samuel wasnt on that list either. There were other Eidson stones there, just didnt find one for Samuel Boyce.

I will be happy to photograph the grave of Leon. Do you have the Section number and Lot number? If not if you call the cemetery at 281-332-3111 they will look it up for you. I could do this but they are more willing to help if its a family member requesting the info.

|Darrell Landrum||Mary Mann Gallaher|
Hi Eva, sorry to bother you like this, but I noticed you were looking for photos of ladies whose maiden name was Mann in the area where the Flowers family is buried. Mary Mann Gallaher is in that area and I have a photo of her grave marker if she is another of your relatives. If you post the memorial for her, let me know and I will add the photo.

Hi Eva, I just got home from taking several photo requests for you, including Mr and Mrs Flowers. I noticed that their grave markers had been cleaned very recently. As a volunteer with find-a-grave, I do not clean grave markers as it is against the rules. Due to the design of their markers and the cleaning, it is a bit hard to make out the writing, but I think they will be ok.

Your thank you is appreciated. Findagrave offers the opportunity through it's postings to find and connect with their ancestral family.
The postings done by some are solely of family, others post from a cemetery census, still others do surnames, obits or veterans.
The end results of all of these posts is that it enables people to make connections that other wise would not happen.
Good Luck to You
