Bobby Joe Austin #20825944
Hi Roger:
I have transferred the memorial for Bobby Joe Austin to you since I am not kin.
That is a wonderful thing you are doing in placing a stone on his grave.
I was not able to view the death certificate so I thought you might want to add some info to his memorial.

I know this is true, but since I didn't enter it, there is nothing I can do about this. Van was a friend of mine and a very good person.

Ida Estelle Hanna
Thank you Roger for connecting her memorial to Matt's. I have deleted the one I made. I checked the Mt. Vernon Cem. in Dyer County and there are no other Find A Grave memorials for Hanna's listed there. I will have to research if Edna and the children are possibly buried there but no one has made a memorial for any of them. Not much time to do this research. JC ;)

RE: Re: Lola Meadows (or Meadors)
Roger, what a wonderful thing you and Bob McWilliams have done and are doing at Shady Grove Cemetery!! You make the grave markers?! Well, they sure look nice! Do you sell them? I didn't see a price on your site. If I lived anywhere close, there would be several I would want.

I didn't realize I had created a duplicate for Lola until I changed her name from Meadows to Meadors and linked it to her parents. Her parents tombstone shows Meadows - I wonder which is correct. His census records show Meadors but his draft card, death certificate and those of his children show Meadows like the tombstone. ???

Re: Lola Meadows (or Meadors)
Roger, thank you for the photo for the grave of Lola in Shady Grove Cemetery #02. The marker shows Meadors, not Meadows and death date as 1912, not 1922 as other records have shown. So, I need to do more research on this. I notice that the marker looks fairly new. Do you have records showing when it was placed and/or any other information about it? I would like to get it correct on the memorial.
Thanks much!

Jacque Ratterree
Agnes Meek Finley 1817-1878
I am currently doing family research and my 3x great grandmother is buried at Mount Zion Cemetery. I looked on find a grave and found a picture you posted of her grave stone. I noticed you work at another cemetery and I am not sure of the connection, if there is one, to my family. Are you related to Agnes Meek Finley 1817-1878?

Roger.....I wanted to put a message on your bio page thanking you for making it possible for me to make the memorials for John and Rebecca Hanna. Their memorials have become so special to several people now, including a new Hanna cousin who contacted me recently. If you check the memorials you will see a new picture of the Hanna cabin. Without your expertise and help these would never have been possible. I will always be grateful for your kindness to me. I have no email at this point Your Forever Friend ; )

RE: George Moore Memorial
Roger, I hesitated about deleting George Moore's memorial... the things I saw said 'it is believed he is buried in Shady Grove'. But thinking that someone might go there and be disappointed not finding the grave, I decided to delete.

I think what you are doing at Shady Grove Cemetery is wonderful.

RE: George Moore Memorial
Hi Roger, I came across several stories about this George Washington Moore while searching for my g.g.grandfather George Washington Moore. I thought his story was interesting and was surprised there was no memorial on Find A Grave for him --- and made one. I know now that I shouldn't have since I had no proof of his burial, only what I had read. I have deleted the memorial and appreciate your calling this to my attention.

Curtis & Lois Kennedy GANT
I just wanted to thank you for the lovely pictures that you posted on Curtis W. Gant's memorial page. I "borrowed" them for my family tree. Lois Kennedy Gant is my 2nd cousin 2x removed via my Barnes-Morris-Kennedy line.

Also, I really appreciate ALL that you do. I think that it is just awesome that you are 3rd generation to take care of Shady Grove Cemetery. It's people like you that help to preserve our cemeteries & our heritage.

Thanks again.
