Judith A. Cleland
I found a small blurb in a local newspaper stating that "Mrs. Judith A. Cleland, 75, died at LeClaire, Iowa, buried Wilton cemetery." It was quoted from the 22 Jul 1892 Waseca Herald and written in a 25 Years Ago column in the 26 Jul 1917 issue of the Herald. Waseca County Historical Society has all the old newspapers from the county on microfilm if you need more information.

I posted her gravestone pic yesterday. I took about 150 Evergreen pics Thursday, and I'm posting them as soon as I can.

Isbister Grave
Carol, I was at Warriston Cemetery today and tried to find the Isbister grave you requested a photo of. Unfortunately I could not find the grave or a headstone. If you give me your email address I will send you the details I got from the records office regarding the grave and people laid to rest there, abomarc@hotmail.com

My husband is also a descendent of W.J. Cleland, through his son E.E. I have a lot of info on that line, if you are interested.

RE: Cleland grave photos!
Not a problem at all I just wish it was easier to read! I looked around and didn't see another marker just this one and I could only read Helen and Edith's names and am assuming that at the top is Charles but you really can't read it. I wish I was able to help more but glad I was able to at least get a picture of the marker now before it deteriorated further. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Hi Carol. I found the lot for the above. Unfortunately, there are only 3 visible stones on it. One barely visible until I started pulling up the sod that was over it. They were for John Wilson, his wife Wealthy Ann Rice and his other wife Mary F. Van Buren. On Mary's stone it says wife of John Wilson M.D.

RE: WJ and JA Cleland
Carol, There already is an entry for Anna M Cleleand Gibson in Find A Grave for the Wilton Cemetery. I posted the photo of her headstone there. It is largely illegible but from what I could make out it appears to be their daughter Anna's headstone and not a child. She married GW Gibson on 7 Dec 1875 as per records at the historical society. The small stone on the right only has the initials W T C on it. There is not an entry for the small stone 4th from the left. It reads:

Our Little
Willie
Son of
JW & AC Cleland
Born Nov 13, 1878

The remained of the stone has sunk below ground level. I'll forward you the pictures.

WJ and JA Cleland
Carol,
I stopped by the Wilton Cemetery today and took the photos you requested. You may notice that there are several more stones in the family plot. These are, from left to right:

WTC /Rev WJ& Judith A /Willie T/ Willie T/Anna M
son of WJ son of JW Gibson

You may be interested that the Waseca County Historical Society has quite alot of information on the Clelands:however, you have to be a member to look at their online indexes and archives. I believe that they will do research for you for a fee though. Let me know if I can help any further.

Maspeth
Anna Glaser
You are very welcome. It was my pleasure. I have been doing Mt Zion for years. One helpful hint is that the people are buried according to the date of death. The row of stones in this society were right on top of the other. I'm used to this so I crawl over the plots very carefully. There was no room in front of Anna's grave to take a pic so I had to go to the row ahead and shoot through the stones. Her gravestone is sandstone and lighter that the others. I hope that you were able to read it.

Carol.

I went to Mt. Zion today to do some photos. I searched for about 2 hours for Anna Glaser. I walked the entire society twice. However, I did find several other Glaser's in that society. Do you want the photos. I will go back to look for Anna again.

Lori

PS If you want the other photos, please send me an email address.
