RE: Mary E Coble Russell & Edward Bradford Russell Forest Hill Cem
Carolyn; I don't believe he was buried here. Mary and Guy are buried next to each other. I pulled up the file of photo's I took for Block 13 and they are in lots 5 & 6 (I walked the entire cemetery and of course could have missed someone). Also on Mary's stone written at the bottom it reads: "Erected by the Eighth District of Wisconsin Womens Christian Temperence Unions. In Memory of Approved Comrade in the White Ribbon Army." So I'm not sure that the family erected the stone. It was obviously erected long after her death as Guy's stone is much more worn and they died the same year. I found the obituary for Edward and he died in 1896 at his son's home out in Great Falls, MT. I wonder if perhaps that was where he was buried. I will send a copy of the obituary to your email address along with a copy of this note. Good luck with your search.

Headstone Genealogist
Mount Royal Photo Request
Mount Royal Cemetery has 165 acres. The burial plot location must be supplied so a volunteer can go take the photo.

You can get this free information by filling the form here: and in the "Desired Service" field, select "Burial Location (free)" and enter the information.

If the Genealogy page was not helpful then email your request to

The cemetery will email you the location (3-10 working days).

Have the memorial updated with the plot number.

You will have made it possible for the photo to be taken.

that's excellent Carolyn! Any luck finding Isaac Cochran's mother yet? I am still stuck there, but keep digging to see what may turn up. :)

I hope by a Professional that know what they are doing with the markers? Not someone with a wire brush or steamcleaner?

RE: Mount Hope -Joel Owen
I'm sorry - I cleaned the stone and that is the best I can read. It is not clearer in person - actually, it reads better in the photo. The headstone is very worn. I'm lucky I could find it as I didn't know who it was until I cleaned the stone. But at least it confirms the burial @ Mt. Hope. If you contact the Lapeer City offices, they might have more info on this family plot with the Chappel's. Did you look at the profiles I created for them ?

1860 census shows his address as Middletown, De.

No problem! I know.. it is a bit sad. Sometimes family members restore old and damaged tombstones - I am not sure if you are family, but maybe someone you know is and would be willing to do this?

RE: Corbus Cemetery Conrad Corbus

Certainly, feel free to use any photos I have posted.

I'd love to scrape around the old Corbus cemetery again but I have been putting it off. I need to make another visit. I feel sure there are other markers under the brish and leaves.

RE: Sarah Jane Cochran Hotchkin
I appreciate that you asked me at least.

I have been doing genealogy for about 26 years myself.

Unfortunately with the ease of the internet people have just started "taking" things. I remember the days when we were kids and that meant plagiarism and copy write infringement that would get us in trouble in school if we just "took" something to put into even a book report.

Now, I feel old! lol

I don't think they even do many of those in schools anymore.

Do you know her parents? I'd like to make sure I have her information as correct as possible on her memorial.

Have a great day!

RE: Sarah Jane Cochran Hotchkin

Thank you for asking about the photos.

You can use them in your own private family files, but please do not post them onto the internet. Especially at places like ancestry or myheritage.

Please also make note of where you got the photo and it is used with my permission.

Sorry to be so "demanding" but I have had so many people actually "stealling" photos and using them on paid sites and also getting information wrong when reposting them.

Thank you,

photo taken from
I noticed that the photo for James McClellan, Memorial# 89955321, appears to be identical to the one that I took in October 2012 and uploaded to my family tree on - with an American Legion member walking in the background. I hope that this is just a single incident and you're not copying others' photographs as a general practice.

Robert Hill
Hi Carolyn-I was aware of Robert Hill being 2nd husband of Harriet, but the person who entered his name in Find A Grave has to be the one to link him. Someone else has now graciously taken over the orig. graver and now you can make the request to them as for a long while those entries were unable to make contact for links or additional data. Regards, geniegenie

RE: Eaman Family
I am so sorry, but I can't find the picture of the street sign that we took for you. I have recently taken a LOT of volunteer photos and I'm afraid I may have deleted it with a group. I will try to find it, and will take another pic if I'm in that area again.

Eaman Family
I have fulfilled your request for headstones for James and Benjamin Eaman. I also took pictures of the other Eaman family members who are buried there and will post those. They include:
Georgiana 1870-1970
Susan 1925-1989
Harriet 1849-1914
Ellen M. 1848-1914
Frank 1851-1916
Jessie 1856-1916
Susie 1899-1938
Lydia 1877-1959
John 1855-1885
Of interest, the road that this cemetery is located on is called Eaman Road. I have a picture of the road sign if you are interested.
