I am very grateful that you transferred this memorial to me. My uncle was just four years old in 1928 when he died of Malaria and was buried in Mississippi. His grieving parents and young siblings had to move back to Minnesota just days after his death. This happened 17 years before I was born, but I grew up knowing how difficult this was for them. I am now very pleased to have connected him to his immediate family (all now buried in Minnesota) through Find A Grave links. This will continue as I work on finding our earlier generations.
Thank you for establishing this memorial.

I greatly appreciate the pictures of the headstone, and other information you supplied for Gussie Ruth St.Claire Johnson, the wife of one of my great uncles, Cleveland Taylor Johnson.
Ruth, a high school teacher, who died in 1926 at the age of 52, was interred in the Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale, but after searching the names of all buried there I found no trace of Cleveland. I don't know his date of death or place of interment.
I know that this was at a time before you were even born, but do you by chance know anything about Cleveland Taylor Johnson who was a bank examiner for the state?

While doing some research I came across the memorial for Augustine M Harlow, Find A Grave Memorial# 105575646, and noticed that the headstone picture that you posted is for a someone named Lee J Spaggiari. Please remove that picture and post a picture of Augustine Harlow's headstone if you have one. Thanks so much.

Did you graduate with Hayden Hall, Rick Anderson, etc.?
I only knew of Davant by name. I knew Louisa and Mony because they went to CHS.

I am a grandson of Etoile and Thurman Douglas. My mother is their daughter, Juanita and my father was Ben Crawford, Jr who died in October of 2009. You probably knew my parents and maybe my grandmother. Anyway, thanks for posting their headstones on Find A Grave. I live in Maryland now and don't get back home much. All of my kids are in Louisiana where they were born.
I knew the Dodson's (Newton's group) and I knew of a Davant Dodson. Is she related to you?

My grandmother, Bettie Haney Franklin, is related to Sam Thaxton Haney. I have not found how they are related. Do you have an idea who his folks were. My relative knew sons, Marshall, Frank and Bobbie.

Hello. Thanks for all of your work with F.A.G.! I just submitted a name change request for the above. All census records show Mr. Hays as Josey or J.R. Only the F.A.G. name is shown as Joseph. Family of Josey also tell me he was "Josey". Out of curiosity, I was wondering if you have documentation for "Joseph"? Thanks, Alan Atwood

By the way, Sarah Louise Eager who married Fincher Gist Bobo (1815-1856) married Samuel L H Clarke after Fincher died. She is also buried in Grange Cemetery as is one of her sons by Fincher, Robert Eager Bobo. Fincher is buried in Fredonia Cemetery in Panola County.

Thanks so much Jack. I don't think Samuel had any grandchildren at least not that I know of. He had 2 sons, one died young (George) and the other married in 1875 but in the 1880 census he is alone and listed as a widower (Curtis B). I just don't know if Curtis remarried or if he had children because I can't find him after 1880. How nice for you to have the diary! Thanks again.

Thanks for the photo Jack, I really appreciate it.
May I point out that his last name is spelled with an 'e' on the end on the stone. Also I found a family bible listing at the DAR that says his name was Samuel Lee Hardy Clarke, and that his dob was 14 March. Clearly the gravestone says 11 March, so it could be either one! But it is nice to know that he is in fact buried in the Grange Cemetery and have a picture of the gravestone. Just wish I knew what happened to his children George and Curtis.

|Debra||RE: any way to find mothers maiden name?|
Hi Jack good to hear you are still around. I sent you a message a while back regarding any ideas you might have for me to find information on Mary Ann Alexander's mother, Susan Ward, she passed away around 1848 maybe during childbirth in Lamar, or Red River, Texas. Susan was married to Daniel Travis Alexander. I know that she is not buried with daniel. There's a grave in a cemetery called the old cemetery in Lamar, Texas that may be her grave, but there's never been a good record located and the grave was listed somewhere as Daniel Alexander's grave, but the date was years before he died. Only thought you have an Where i can look for help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Jack. Hope all is well and happy holidays.

|Debra||Old cemetary in lamar texas|
You helped me before so I hope you can help me again.
There is a cemetery called the old cemetery in Lemar Texas.
There's a grave on the north end from the 1800s that may have the name Daniel Travis Alexander, born in 1812.
I do not think that Daniel Travis Alexander is in this grave. I think his wife Susan Ward Alexander may be in this grave and she died in 1848 or 1849 in lamar texas. Can you tell me who can help me figure out the correct information? No grave information has ever been found for Susan Ward Alexander, And there's no record of her death.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Jack,
