A duplicate memorial for Nicholas Shaw (Jr. 1869-1756). was created in the wrong cemetery. (See #106677880). Please accept the links to Nicholas Shaw’s parents so the duplicate can be deleted. His Father is Nicholas Shaw #63375179; his Mother is Deborah Whitmarsh Shaw #63375233.

Staff Sgt Carlos Hanson edit
Bataan March - proper phrase has always been, The Bataan Death March.

Your narrative infers death as result of the Bataan Death March. However, you show him having died in china. Please clarify.

Thank you.

RE: Elaine's family
Unfortunately, I no longer keep in touch with any of my cousins in that part of the family, so I don't know if they are interested. I could try to track them down to find out if you would like for me to, because I am in contact with one of my cousins from another aunt. However, I don't know how they would feel about you contacting them if they don't know you. People tend to be pretty cautious these days.

RE: Black's
Elaine was my aunt by marriage. Blaine was my mother's brother. My mother was Glenrose Ford Hester. Elaine never seemed like an "in law". She was so nice to me all the time when I was growing up. Ellen is my age, so when my parents and I would drive from San Antonio to Grand Junction every summer, I spent a lot of time at their house. You may like to check out my virtual cemetery "Susan's family Ford side". They are all there. It's nice to meet you!

Larry Parker
Hansen family

Since you wrote such a great bio for Don Hansen, I am sure you have a connection to him. So I want to let you know that I added a photo to his mother's memorial. The photo might show Don, or else the boy is his brother Mack.

The photos are so large that FindAGrave shrunk them a little. So here's the full-sized versions, after I combined them and repaired some minor blemishes:

Click on the small version, then scroll to zoom in to the full size image, which is 10 inches wide on my desktop computer monitor.

Feel free to copy, save, and use the photo, if you care to.

I have no connection to the family, I just find great genealogy items and pass then on :)

Don J Hill
Thank you for the edit on Don Hill's memorial # 150242828. I did a little bit of research and found his military records and census listed him as Don J. Hill. I have no idea why the title of his obituary read Donna Jean Burt Hill. I have corrected the name to read Don J. Hill.

Are you related to Don?

I have submitted a transcription of his stone to the manager of his memorial. The sun was not optimal for that particular area of the cemetery Saturday, although in the correct lighting it is completely legible. I did my best! Jim

RE: Jane Bailey Adams
Thank you Marchelle!
I'm sorry to say I don't have any stories of Jane Bailey Adams nor her husband Charles Henry Stapley. I was luck to have started my genealogy tree with a 15 generation chart almost completed including the pictures of a few. I just found Jane's death cert. that I have put on her memorial. I am one of those that feel anything we can find about the person is honoring them.
Please keep me in mind if you do find any stories about Jane. Jane is my Great Grand Aunt.

Thank you,

That is quite a task you have taken on. Thank you. Please, however, would you remove the black and white picture of my grandmother, Elizabeth Claridge? I have so many other lovely ones. Thank you for your efforts

Elisa W. Bernstein
info you requested
Hi, I'm sorry but I don't know much, as our family didn't share much of its history.
Jacob Wirth Jr., my grandfather, was the son of Jacob Wirth, sr. and Maria Wirth, who are listed as his parents on his page, and are buried near him in the Wirth plot.
The only sibling I know of was a sister named Elisa, but there may have been more. I believe they lived in Kreuznach, Germany, because they had a vineyard there before the war.

Hope this helps,
Elisa Bernstein

RE: Rose Headstones
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe there were several Sowers headstones just to the east of the Rose headstones. I actually took pictures of about 15 different headstones today so I'm not sure, but I usually look around to see if there are obvious relatives and Sowers does seem to ring a bell in my memory.
