You know it didn't pop up when I initially searched the name which I thought was odd, but the memorial number took me right to it.

No, I was visiting family in Pennsylvania and spent some time snapping photos in St. Mary's and St. Gabriel's. They're family cemeteries for me, but I was snapping away because I noticed most of the Hazleton area cemeteries aren't on BillionGraves and I wanted to do a little to help others. It's an easy thing to do and the pictures go straight from the app to their website for others to transcribe. I just made sure that everything I took also had a memorial on FindAGrave. Ferdinand just happened to be one I caught...and I just noticed that Eloner was at the bottom of the same tombstone so I added it to her memorial.

Most of the tombstones were easy to read, but there were a few getting eroded quickly. It's so sad when that happens.

Either way our ancestors went to the same church at some point, but the Rownin name isn't familiar. I'm Blanchfield, Boyle, Monaghan, Brown, Barrett, McCoy, Quirk, and Lee. I hope the picture helps though!

Ferdinand and Eloner Rownin
The name isn't familiar so I'm going to have to say that I'm not related. I couldn't find a memorial with that name, but it's not a family name. I've uploaded so many photos over the past two weeks it's all a blur.

Ancestral Sleuth
John, we are distant cousins.
I plan on going up to VT in SEP/OCT to do more extensive genealogy. Are you on ancestry by any chance?

Hi John, I have a tree on Ancestry....I'll try to check and see what I have on that branch if anything. If you live can go to the Sullivan County Historical Society ( I think that is what it's called) and ask about the PIRTLE book a Mr. Gambil had possession of a book that was researched by PIRTLE lady. I can't think of her name right now...Delcie Pirtle maybe!!!
Nice to hear from you and I will try to get back with you!!!
