Thank you for posting pictures and information. Mary was my gg grandaunt. I would like to make a correction to her information. Jane Ward was her mother. Jane Roach was James Daniel Mooneyham's third wife. First was Jane Ward of TN (mother of 5 children), second Susan Wooten (mother of 6) and third Jane Roach. They married in 1893 and had no children. Again, thank you. Your work helps so many of us.

Thanks for the information. No I didn't find anything that stated he died in SC. Just his estate. You have been more than helpful. Thank you so much...

Yes, I do. I was helping a lady join the DAR under Lewis Hogg. They would not accept the tombstone or Georgia. But they had it in their records that he died in Newberry Dist, SC. I was curious and I was up there and look it up in the library. He estate was Major Lewis Hogg, 1829, Ephrain Suber was over the estate. He was Lewis' son-in-law. It stated that the widow had moved to Georgia. Estate is Box 44 Estate 16.
I just can't get my head around the fact that he died in SC and was buried in GA. How did they bring the body etc. Just curious

Major Hogg died in Newberry Dist, SC. Do you know if his wife brought his body to GA when she moved here. She moved right after he died. His estate is in SC and it states that she has moved to GA

Hi Clifford...thanks for the work you have done.. great job.. I do have one suggestion for a name spelling correction. I was researching the Senkirik name tonight (my aunt married one). The headstone in Hermleigh cemetery has a S at the end of the name but I believe that is to represent plural names of Father and daughter (sister) the name Senkirik does not actually have a S on the end..

I was THRILLED to find that someone had had a new marker installed for Major Lewis Hogg! I added his line as an SAR supplemental patriot back in 2006, but of course there was only the sad, lichen-covered, acid-rain destroyed ancient marker that had most likely been put in place soon after his death in 1828, but I guess that is not so bad a condition to be in for a marker which is not way back in the woods, away from city smog and car engine exhaust. Let us now hope that the new marker will last another 180 years! And as soon as the cost of bronze comes down, I will try to have an SAR grave decoration ceremony with a bronze SAR marker...perhaps we can persuade the DAR to add theirs as well.

Dear Mr. Fargason, In the process of doing family research and making on-line memorials to my family members, I found that you have made a memorial to my great-grand aunt, Mary Etlinger Nachlinger(82116267). Would you please consider transferring her memorial to me so I can link her up to all the other family members and add appropriate information to it? I would very much appreciate it. Thank You. Monty Williams.

I received your message about the Snyder cemeteries - I live here so I know about all the different cemeteries. I never post a gravesite unless I have confirmed it. I will recheck this posting and correct as needed. Thanks -

You are correct and I have deleted my listing for Louise at Hermleigh. I put her there with her daughter Betty Jane Athey.
I still have not found her husband, B.C. Athey.
Thanks for your diligence.
