Thank you for the update! The 1790 DOD was derived from a pension record which stated that he died "around 1790." I will update Captain Burnley's memorial.

Dan, Speaking of the Burnley family I understand you are the expert on this family. In my research into the Early Calvert County Maryland Smiths I have discovered that they immigrated from Burnley Parish Lancashire England in the early 1600's. Do you know any thing about Burnley Parish?

Dan, thank you for creating this memorial, do you have information regarding his two marriages: Lucy Elizabeth Spilman and Maria Louise Ward? His son Caleb Douglas married Martha Burnley Woodson, is she realted to John and Sarah Winston Woodson of Flowerdew hundred on the James River in southern Virginia. Thank Kenneth Fawcett
