I went out and walked the old section of Bonaparte cemetery today and found Phillip and his first wife, Mary. Did not find his 2nd wife, but there is a broken stone next to his that possibly was hers. I will get his picture on the site later today and maybe you could make an entry for his first wife and I can add her picture also.

Redding, IA is in Ringgold county and that is nowhere near Van Buren county. Maybe your family is buried there, rather than Van Buren county.

I will check all the Van Buren county cemetery books the next time I am at the Keosauqua library and see if I can find which cemetery he is buried in. There is always the possibility that he doesn't have a tombstone and if that is the case, there is nothing I can do for you.

I have been working on Bonaparte cemetery for over a year and have posted obits & tombstone pictures of more than 900 burials so far. There is no Philip Rice buried in Bonaparte cemetery. The only Rice family buried out here didn't come to the area until about 1938. Where did you get your information that he is buried in Bonaparte cemetery? There are a lot of little surrounding cemeteries that he possibly is buried in.
