I am a descendant of Asa through his son, H.W. Partin who is my great great grandfather. Any chance you know who his wive(s) were? If so, any idea where they are buried? I put plural on wife since I don't know much about him. Thanks for your help.

Betty Roberts
Renewing our Friendship
Hi, Jo,
It's Betty Roberts here. I apologize I've let so many months pass without connecting with you. I've been looking on a system called FamilySearch. It had Floyd Dixon Roberts as having been born in Italy. I'm so grateful you had the ledger from the Malloy Funeral Home to permit me to make the correction on his information on that site.

I was wondering if you know about a James Elbert Roberts - also listed on that same site - as a child of CMB & Agnes. He was supposedly born after Julia and before Reuben. He was supposedly born in Virginia. Do you know anything about him??? My daddy never mentioned his name but he mentioned all the other children of CMB & Agnes as they are listed on Find A Grave and what I know from my father and aunt Sis (Florence).

Also, I was hoping you would remind me of how you are related to Joseph Marion Roberts. Is your husband (I don't know his name) a grand child or great grandchild to Joseph? What are the names of his siblings, etc.? Do y'all still live in Houston? I really would love to visit you in person and ask about a thousand questions.

Finally, I hope the new year is being good and kind to you and your family. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

R. Belton Love
I am trying to confirm the parents of R. Belton Love. I see by the death dates of his parents that are listed here that both of them died before R. Belton was born in 1861. Does anyone have any further information that they would be willing to share? Thank you

Your welcome. I also added a picture of him and his wife. These are the parents of my Great Uncle Jack who married my Grandma's sister Marge. Jack's grandson provided the picture.

Thank you

Burial Unknowns
You may not know that it is a violation of Find A Grave rules to create and leave "Burial Unknown" memorials for more than 30 Days. The rules say that you may create a "burial unknown" temporarily, but you must provide location (cemetery) or disposal (cremated, lost at sea, etc.) within 30 Days or delete the memorial.

J. Rick Weber
RE: Nellie Gray Stewart Hannah
Dear Jo,

Sorry, I don't know. We could contact other relatives, if you want.

I met her in 1992. Jan & I were invited to the annual Parten Family Reunion that was held on the 1st Saturday in October at the Hickory Grove Cemetery. She was the closest relative there, but refused to share any info on our Stewart family, stating that her grandfather Stewart abandoned her family and remarried a woman in Mississippi and had a new family.

If you examine the facts, her grandmother died in 1896, leaving him with four children aged 9 to 1.

Perhaps we could ask if anyone plans attending this year's reunion, assuming that they still have one.

Yours truly,
Cousin Rick

Samuel Robert Parker Memorial # 44174100
On Find A Grave Samuel and his wife Almedia Celeste Stephens Parker have two spellings of the cemetery name "Elm" and "Elim". Did you mean "Elim"?
Moreover, you stated their cemetery is in Conecuh County, Alabama. Is there an Elim in Conecuh County?
My source "Descendants of John Parker and His wife Sarah Gordy of Delaware, Marylandd, Virginia and Georgia" state Samuel and Almedia are buried in Elim Cemetery which is in Roberts, Escambia County, Brewton, Alabama.
Their Find A Grave Memorial numbers are
44172547 and 44174100, respectively.
Would you please correct the spelling of and the location of the Cemetery if I am correct.

Just adding some information to my family tree this morning and came across this and wanted to share with you. I photographed the cemetery located in Houston that is located between Houston Baptist and Houston Congregational awhile back. This gentleman seems to be located there and his memorial is #61592898. I saw where you are maintaining a memorial for him in another cemetery and it make me think you might not know about this memorial. I have wondered about this cemetery name several times because in obituaries they list it as both of the previous names but I have never heard it called Liberty Hill. Just curious and would love to know what you know about it. Thanks in advance.

Hello Jo,

He is my maternal grandfather, so it isn't likely I will ever tire of maintaining his memorial. Your ancestor Annie, was his second wife and they did not have any children together. Did you ever meet him? Do you have any information on him that I do not have? I recently found out that a picture I have had for years and did not know who was in it contained his mother's image. I am still looking for info on her and her family.

Thanks, Chuck
