Mabel Minnie Trumbull Norquist (76982704)
I submitted the name correction; thanks. The correct date is on her memorial. I just thought it was strange how badly the stone was messed up by whoever made it. ;-)

First of all I love the poem! I've had one person TWICE say that 2 different great-great uncles were married to their sisters, and they only changed one so far. Anyway, thanks for putting in your exactly correct note on the above person who married my great-uncle Oscar Matthew Norquist (174795020) in 1920 in Hebron, NE (Oscar remarried Alma Taylor & is buried with her in IA). The tombstone company not only misspelled "Norquist" on Mabel Minnie's marker, they got the wrong year of death. I joked with my sister that I wondered if the tombstone company gave them a discount.

Are Harold & Clara relatives and would you like to manage their memorials?

There is a broken stone to the right of Ester's which might be her husbands. I didn't disturb it to see.

Also appears that Aurora is buried very near her Mother.

Thank you for correcting me on where Asa and Aurora where buried. I had been trying to find their burial for a while and just went with the closest to where they had passed. And yes, I would like to get a copy of Asa's of obit. And of Aurora's obit should you ever run across it.
Thanks again.

Fred Baird
Fred Baird was a cousin of my Grandfather Harold Leon Riddle. The knowledge was from my family. There used to be a single large red rock without any writing upon it that marked his grave but someone stole the rock years ago. It may be hard to do much more as he was the son of one of my grandfathers aunts that was raised by another and his actual father was never married to his mother. One of those stories you hear but never get the entire story.

Johanna Riddle
I sent an edit about this stone, still not a Riddle but I remembered something else. I asked a long time ago about this stone and was told it had been there forever. In this cse this should mean when the family plots were bought in the cemetery. They were bought in 1941 or shortly thereafter as that is when my Great grand mother Mary Maxwell passed away. the may also help in finding out who Johanna is as the stone was most likely already there when Mary Maxwell died. I hope this all helps.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for sending the obituary, I have entered it into his memorial record. Let me know if you want a transfer, there are about 13 or 14 in the family that I could transfer if you wish.

Take care and have a nice evening, I appreciate your help!

That's strange; there was no spouse listed when I submitted the edit so I'm not sure what happened. I'm sorry this is causing additional effort to correct. -- Linda

RE: Arthur Willy
You sent me both of them I just haven't gotten it on her memorial. Thank you for letting me know! If you aren't related & care to transfer him, I'd love to maintain him. He's one of the 3 brothers that came to America (the rest stayed in Switzerland). I have some other info I could add when I get a chance. Kim

Lucy J Fulton
Hello Linda

Thanks so much for the memorial for Lucy J Fulton #132476499 and her obit. She was my great-great grandmother. I have been on ancestry.com for several years and could find no info on her death or burial. I'm so happy! You said many of the headstones at Pleasant Plain Cemetery are missing. I was wondering if Lucy's stone still exists or you posted an old photo.

Thanks again

in memory of grandma
Maude Belle Stainbrook Kinzie
Hi Linda,
I wanted you to know that I accepted your additional information for her birth/death dates & locations. However, there was a second request that had nothing in it. Before I rejected it, I wanted to make sure you knew that I'm not rejecting anything as it states:

Name current edit
Maude Kinzie no change no change

FYI, this woman's sister Mattie Elizabeth (Stainbrook) Coltran was my grandpa Clifford Forrest Coltran's mother. Grandpa was born in Alexandria, Thayer Co, Nebraska. His father John Coltran had a nervous breakdown and walked away. Years later he visited grandpa, and they had a wonderful time. He had told grandpa that he was a finishing carpenter and had actually worked when they built the unicameral state capitol building. I have tried to find his grave to hook him up with grandpa. I did find a grave for a John Coltran. The dates seem about right, but it is way up in Boyd County (borders South Dakota). His grave is:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=53778153

Coltran is such a rare spelling as most spell it like Coltrain or Coltrane. So I'm on to something, but not sure how to verify it. The person owning the memorail really only knew the woman buried with him. I don't know if Nebraska has a good way to find this out such as perhaps an obituary. In 1900 John was living with his parents and brothers and sister in Waco, York County NE:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M314-M9X

The names are all messed up, but I think grandpa's middle name came from a brother named Forrest even if a name in the census for an uncle is "Forris".

John married Mattie in 1905 in Fairbury, Jefferson CO, NE. In 1910, he was still in Fairbury with wife, grandpa and one of grandpa's two younger brothers:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/ML4V-8SH

I'm sure I found him in 1920 in Tulsa:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MJ9N-DRM

Anyway, if you ever run into this name in your Nebraska work, I would sure like to learn more.

Because grandpa's dad left when he was young, little is known about the Coltran family.
