Looks good. I've removed the duplicate entry.

Thanks

RE: Hibler-Hill Connections
I am thoroughly aware of your west PA ancestors, had to do their genealogy to separate them from mine in Fayetteville, Allegeheny and Washingtom counties. Some interesting history out there. Thanks for your reply.

Hibler-Hill Connections
I am trying to find my Joseph Hill who I suspect died in the Mifflinville area ca 1806. He was baptized in St Thomas Anglican Church Alexandria NJ ca 1759 with a number of Hibler children. During the revolution those Hiblers disappear (to SC) and until recently I've not found any in Northumberland PA. I'm curious whether your Hill line go back to NJ or Philadephia stock. My Ydna is R1b1 CTS4466. Dorian Hill

Kathi Wertman
RE: Rhoads
Hi Larry
I linked them together. Funny you sent this now- I have been working all week on the Rhoads/Stoughtons for my cousin Fred Wertman. He is the great grandson of John M Rhoads. Are you related to him?

Hiblers/thank you!
Thank you so much for the transfers of Samuel and Osee Hibler. It is amazing to find such history and a bonus for the grave marker photos to be there. Thank you for setting up their memorials and helping to preserve our family history.

RE: Elizabeth Montgomery McCormick
You are right - I skipped a generation there. John and Christiana are her grandparents. Thanks for catching that.

David (41151391) and Agnes (41150740) are her parents and are also buried in Chillisquaque.

Elizabeth Montgomery McCormick
I thought you might be interested in linking Elizabeth to her parents. Her father was John Montgomery (41151522) and her mother was Christiana Foster Montgomery (41150960). Her 1st husband was Dr. Thomas Wood, who was a friend of her father's.

Thanks much for the substantial edits to Catherine Wax Godcharles memorial. Very much appreciated. If only we could find a death date for her!

Best, Barry

Gresh tombstone photos
You definitely win the Grand Photo Prize for Today, Larry! Those are great tombstone photos. Would that everybody's F.A.G. tombstone photos were as sharp, cropped, and clear! And, I was able to put more complete dates of death on several of the memorials because of the info in the photos. I'm afraid I'm going to have to disappoint you about family portraits, however. I'm not a family member either, so I don't have any. But we're both doing our respective good deeds for the Gresh family. Much appreciated.... ~ Jay

Heritage
Rose Hill
Hello Larry - the Rose Hill home was owned by the Hastings family for a time - they lived there in the late 40's/early 50's for certain; the publisher's grandson, Berkeley Penn Hastings, was a childhood friend of my father, who lived on Walnut Street, just a few doors down. The Kramm family, who sold the house to the library bought it from a daycare provider, if memory serves.

RE: Milton historical site
I remember my best friend, Mary, talking about her "rich" grandfather. When he visited her family living in Tacoma, Washington, he was very bitter about losing "all his money." He was still an entrepreneur, though, and was trying to invent a candy to rival Tacoma's famous Almond Roca. Once I have the family's permission, I will send you more information. I knew Elmer did well (his brother). He, according to news articles, was still running the company well into his 90s.

I will send you what I can find out. All three Hemminger girls have photos. They might want to send copies to the library. I will ask them. I will stay in touch. Again, thanks! Alice

Milton historical site
Wow, thanks SO much for the historical website. Thanks to you, I can find lots of information for my lifetime best friend, Mary C. Hemminger. Many, many of her people originated from that area. I plan to present her with an album for her birthday in December. I have known her since I was two. We are now both in our sixties. Her people include Hemminger, Heinen, Stout, Shimer, and many others. Her sister was in the town a few years ago looking to see where their grandfather, George Stout Shimer, lived. Too bad she didn't have the address. One house burned down but the other - a huge mansion - apparently is still standing. Shimer was prominent in business circles and owned some sort of huge plant. Your site has helped me in doing a bit of search for Mary and her sisters. Many thanks!!!
