Susan Lehr Derr
I don't have much on Susan's family, just her parents - Henry Lehr and Polly Minnich. She has a brother John? My husband's family on his father's side has been a real challenge. His dad's father died young and the family did not stay connected.

We might cross paths again, as my husband's great grandmother was Susan (Lehr) Derr 1855-1936 of Tremont.

Wendy McIntosh
John Waugh
John Waugh volunteer # 46969136 has made approximately 400 memorials - 200 of which are duplicates. His profile page is full of requests to delete the duplicates.

He refuses to delete duplicates.

I have reported about a dozen to Find A Grave admin. If you find any duplicates of your memorials that he has made - please report them to Admin at - give them the memorial numbers and they will merge the original & duplicates.

Thank you!

Lisa Manescu
Elizabeth Ann Jennings
Hello. Just wanted to make the correction to the stone of Elizabeth Ann Jennings, buried in St. Patrick's cemetery, Pottsville. Her stone was inscribed incorrectly. Her birth date should be 1871, not 1881 as carved. She is buried with her baby brother William, who died before her. She is not buried with her husband. He was not Catholic and is buried in another cemetery in Pottsville. Thank you for attaching this note to her information. She is my Great Grandmother.

Hi Joy,

Thank you so much for your work. I've been looking for the grave site of Mary E. Stein, my grandmother's sister. Are you related to Mary Stein?

I am trying to find out where her father and mother are buried. Frank and Clara Stein.

Odd Fellows Cemetery/Shamokin
I see that you took a picture of the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Shamokin so thought maybe you could answer my question. Do you know if most of this cemetery is recorded on findagrave? I am looking for a Harry S. Mutchler and his wife, Catherine and did not find them there. PA Death Certificate for Harry says that he is to be buried in the Odd Fellows at Shamokin. Just wondering if I should search elsewhere or if there is a good possibility that they are not yet listed. Thanks for any help.

Mt Peace vs St. Stanislaus
I just noticed that you have some graves listed as being in Mount Peace Cemetery when they are in fact in St. Stanislaus Cemetery next door. For instance, I was just there yesterday and photographed the grave of Stiney Michelcavage, your record # Find A Grave Memorial# 51175619. I photographed that exact grave in St. Stanislaus, but you have it in Mt. Peace. Same is true for Joseph and Rita Olexo (Find A Grave Memorial# 51169731 and Find A Grave Memorial# 51169739).

It is kinda confusing because the cemeteries are right next to each other and if you don't enter by the gate, but just walk within the cemeteries, you might not realize that you have crossed from one to another.

I took some picture in St. Stanislaus and if I come across one that is the same as a record of yours, I will try to add a comment so that you can change the cemetery on your record.

Happy Holidays.

The two photos for John Nace's online memorial ( are not the right headstone. The headstones are for Robert F Nace.

Joy, Any luck finding anything re Mary Nolan and whether she is actually buried at that cemetery? Please let me know. Thanks! Barry

[Send Reply] RE: Mary Nolan (Maiden name was Shea)
Hi Barry,
I searched the whole cemetery yesterday and I didn't come across your Mary Nolan, but I did come across a Nolan family plot section, and in this section there was a couple of tombstones that is unreadable, so don't know if they could be yours or not. I can't find a total listing of all names buried in this cemetery yet, I will check at library once weather is ok to drive in. There is also some graves being taken over by trees, and debris. There is also some graves that are knocked down to the ground and can't read them either. If you want the photos of the family plot that I found of Nolan family in case they could be your family, let me know. I will continue to try to help get you some answers.
Thanks Jo

Magdalena and Andrew Kienzle - Odd Fellows Cemetery

Hi Joy,

Thank you for your reply and for looking around to see if Andrew's name was on any other stones.

Again, so sad to see these stones in sad shape.

Have a good weekend. Clair

Hi Joy:
Sorry this has taken so long but I just want to thank you so much for the photos taken of James and Mary Highton's headstones. Living so far away, I appreciate your service more than you know. Paula

Magdalena Kienzle - Odd Fellows Cemetery

Dear Joy,

Thank you so much for taking the picture of Magdalena's stone.

I am sorry to see it in such bad shape.

Is this also the same stone for her husband Andrew? I see his name under her name.

If so would you be able to also post it on his Find A Grave Memorial# 141762993?

If you want me to do it? I will do so, but would want your permission first.

Thank you for your kindness in taking the photograph and the time you spent in so doing. It is very much appreciated.

God Bless You ~ Fondly, Clair

There still no permanent markers for the Kinney graves as of Aug 4, 2015. The temporary markers are still in place. Will keep checking when in the area.

Reed in the Wind
Riedt, Rieth, Reed
Originally, the family came over with other families that went to Schoharie, NY. The father(spelled Riedt on the manifest) died enroute and was buried at sea. The mother and children, some already married, went to NY. There the families were cheated of payments from the British for work building colonies, and two Rieth brothers scouted down the rivers for Conrad Weiser. They laid the groundwork for the new treaty helped by Conrad Weiser that allowed the families to settle beyond Reading in Berks County, PA. My ancestor George donated the land for Reed's church in Stouchsburg close to where Reed's cemetery is still today. Christopher, my GGGGgrandfather, married Conrad Gilbert's daughter Catherine. They had George who had Daniel who had William, my great grandfather, who was a well-known ambidextrous blacksmith in Schuylkill County.
Two Rieth/Reed brothers were also right-hand men to General George Washington, one was a wagonmaster and the other a personal valet.
