RE: Barcus grave photos
It was a pleasure to get this for you. It was a little difficult to capture the photo of the whole stone due to the half sun and half shade. If there is anything else you need in theAustin or surrounding area please let me know.

Hi Velma
I just entered a photo for James Alfred Yawn, Sr. that I took at Forest Park Cemetery, Lawndale. He is buried beside his wife Ada Bessie Yawn and his son James Jr.
Could you please move the memorial to the correct cemetery or let me know if you would like me to setup one at Forest park.
Thank you for the help

RE: Robert Gee Chandler headstone
Hi Velma & her husband,

Thank you both sooooooo Much! for the time, expense and effort that you and your husband put into finding Robert's grave marker and taking a photo of his marker and adding it to his memorial.

I deeply appreciated you both doing this for Robert and also for his family members. I am so proud of the wonderful photo of Robert Gee Chandler's grave marker that you took and added to his memorial.

There are so many grave markers that become lost over time, because dirt covers over them and/or grass grows over them.

My father and I had the same experience, when we went to visit the grave of his Aunt at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden. My father knew exactly where her grave was, but grass had grown over her marker in the same way as it had Robert Gee Chandler's marker.

I had a man from Washington state, contact me about his Aunts grave marker in Forrest Cemetery. He said that he had requested a photo from a volunteer and that he had received a reply that she wasn't in Forrest Cemetery, that he could not find a marker and that the cemetery had no record. But....another photo volunteer, went to the cemetery , for me, and she found his Aunts grave marker up under a huge flower bush and grass had grown over it. The man in Washington State was so thankful for this photo volunteer finding his Aunts grave marker, as he was planning to come to Alabama to visit her grave, but had put off the trip until someone could find her marker.

You both are wonderful and dedicated photo volunteers, who are so appreciated by us all. You both put your hearts into your searchs.

Until Later.....God Bless,
Judith

RE: Hello to Velma!🌹
I live in Norman, Arkansas and plan on coming back to Brenham week after next. I am going to meet my mother's 1st cousin and his daughter Linda Kenjura. I'm very excited. I was there this time last year and when on to meet my 2nd cousin Josephine in Austin was Joe Kenjura's daughter. Grandma had no middle name which I always found odd and in Polish it was Ceste or Kasta. On some official paperwork it is mentioned more as Kasta. But it was Katy and I ONLY mention it cause it bothered her about the spelling. I have now seen Matelske spelled six different ways. Whew!

RE: Hello to Velma!🌹
Well, I THOUGHT she was my great-aunt AND grandma's sister to boot!! Since I couldn't find her under grandma's siblings I thought my memory wrong. Not the first time either. As I said, she was a hoot and when she came it was soooo much fun. And Velma grandma spelled her name KATY. I know it is on her headstone Katie but that is incorrect. She was even bothered by folks spelling it Katie. Of course I learned thru Ancestry in Polish it is Kasta. Thank you SO much and maybe we will talk in person one day. Take care😉

Well, now I don't know! I called her Aunt Rosie but she wasn't. Grandma adored her and gramps didn't. Why? She was loud, smoked, drank a beer heaven forbid, AND she wore rouge and lipstick, lol!!! She would stay a week with us, and that's all I can remember. Sorry!

Hello to Velma!🌹
I am Paula K Gregurek Matelske Graves and I am the daughter of Christine Matelske Gregurek. My grandparents, whom I lived with most of my childhood, were Katy and John Matelske. It's good to see you getting family history straight and I too, have been doing my best with what I have to do the same. I read on Mark Morehead, a 1st cousin's page, that y'all were discussing a relative named "Rosie." All I can remember is that she came once a year to stay a week with us in Brenham and she lived in California. I thought her to be a hoot, and grandma adored her!

Concerning links for parents: 173360034 James H. "Bo" Calfee and James Price Calfee 160933740 are two different people. I deleted the links for parents for 160933740. I usually don't link parents unless I know for sure. Thanks for pointing the error out.

Edgar E Hughes
Hi Velma,

Edgar was my 2nd cousin 1 removed. My line goes back to the Holman clan. Joseph and Frances Stivender Holman were my 2nd great grandparents. Their daughter, Mary Frances "Fannie" Holman who married William Legrand Booth. Their son, Frederick Neuman Booth who was my grandfather.

Hope this helps you sort out mine and your husband's ancestry.

Have a great 4th of July!

I added it to the memorial page. Sorry that I neglected to put it on the memorial.
I do not know this individual, but I found his obit in my sister-in-law's effects from her half-sister. The obituary was in a scrapbook with no other info about it. I set up the memorial for he and connected it to his wife when I did not find one in Find-a-Grave.
Is he a relative??

I would probably go to other Find A Grave memorial, go to the edit and try for asking a transfer to you since your a relative. If you get it you can deleted or save some information if you like. I had to do this on my wife , she had 3 memorial by different people. I do know last summer their was someone else researching Warhol and Warchol I think she call herself Martha . Good luck
