Barbara I just joined today and really don't know how this works yet. I do live close by the location your needing the photo from. Your last post was 6 months ago, have you gotten your photo yet?

Last October, you took a photo for the headstone of Josephine Ewing Roberson and all that was on it was her first name. Do you recall if the cemetery office had her date of birth and death on file? I wanted to put the correct dates on the memorial, in case they did. Thanks!

Okay, that's cool. We did manage to find it today! Thanks, and let me know if you ever need anything.

I am going to go out there today for more section-by-section photos, and based on the sec/range info I see in the comments (drifted in while reading tangent comments), I can take the photo. However, since you have done the research with Fredericka, I could send the photo along and let either of you have the volunteer credit, if you like. Let me know either way.

Yes, I have my own copy of the Winfield book. We (the Washington County Genealogical Society) are working on a complete account of every cemetery in the county. I'm not sure when it will be finished or what plans there are for publication. Meanwhile, Jackson Cemetery, according to the Winfield book is located "In a thicket on top of a hill some distance north of the old La Bahia Road and about 3 miles northwest of the intersection of State Highway 90 & Farm Road 912. If you have a GPS, Winfield shows it at Latitude 30 degrees 19'41", longitude 96 degrees 14'45". He goes on to say that "only those stones within an iron fence remain. Within the living memory of the inhabitants of the area, there were at least two dozen more graves on this site". Of course this was recorded in 1969, so a lot more deterioration has probably taken place. If you are still interested in purchasing a copy of the Winfield book, you can get one here:http://home.earthlink.net/~awhart/wcgs/washgene.htm. If you have a problem, don't hesitate to contact me.

According to the "Cemetery Records of Washington County Texas 1826-1960" by Judy & Nath Winfield, Jr., there is a grave for a Mrs. C.M.K.D. Campbell, born October 28, 1825, died June 30, 1897, in the Range 2, Section 4 of Prairie Lea Cemetery. This certainly looks like the one with which you have had a problem.

I went ahead and created the memorial for Hallie. Find A Grave Memorial# 44610111. I would certainly appreciate it if you added your image of her gravestone to her memorial.

1) Hallie Wright is the daughter of Isaac & Annie (Gillespie) Whitmore:
Born: 9 Oct 1906 in Brenham, Washington Co., TX
Died: 4 Sep 1966 in Beaumont, Jefferson Co., TX.
Hallie married J. L. WRIGHT
There currently isn't a memorial for her at Prairie Lea Cemetery. If the dates match your image either you or I can create a memorial for her. My only hesitation is that according to her death certificate her body was donated to Baylor Medical School. Please let me know.
2) Edwin Knox Whitmore is the son of Isaac & Annie (Gillespie) Whitmore:
Born: 17 Nov 1908 in Brenham, Washington Co., TX
Died: 03 Nov 1968 in Waco, McLennan Co., TX
His Find A Grave Memorial# 43357273.
3) Nancy "Ruth" (Perkins) Gillespie, mother of Annie, Find A Grave Memorial# 40799846.
Thanks for all the hard work.

Thank you for taking and posting the image of Annie's gravestone (Find A Grave Memorial# 43228653). I see that she rests next to her husband Isaac (Find A Grave Memorial# 43357062). Will you please add the same image to his memorial?
Thank you again.

This is kind of an informal photo request, since you can't make requests on Famous memorials, but if you wanted to add Robert Treat Paine to your list next time you're out there.
That would be a good notch in the belt of a top-notch volunteer. :D

...and not that anybody's requested one of these of mine, haha. I just wanted to avoid crossed wires over it IF it ever happens. :D

Since you take photo requests for Prairie Lea in Brenham, I thought it would be good to let you know that any memorial created by me, whose death date is before 2009, I already have a photo for. These come from "photo sweeps" of a section at a time, and if it isn't up yet, it means I'm some days behind in posting. Anything 2009 and after by me is usually from an obit, and is completely up for grabs. :)
You haven't claimed any in this manner yet, but I wanted to let you know ahead of time so neither of us wasted any resources, since there have been more requests coming through in the last week or so. :)
I do like that you are getting the requests from out there! I'm frankly too chicken to bring phones and people into this hobby most of the time. :P And your work is superb!

Thank you for putting up the picture of the marker. You have the right marker. She was also called Minna Keng. She was the wife of August and mother of Eddie.

Thank you so much for obtaining a photo of my dear friend's grave. The last time I was in Brenham (summer of 2005), his grave was still only marked with a temporary Funeral Home marker.

Thank you so much for taking these pictures. I would love to have a copy of any Pahl descendants there. I remember my Aunt Julia who was a sibling of these. They immigrated from Prussia. My email is email@example.com
Thank you, Ruby Pender
