Whillock not whitlock
I believe you have the wrong parents for Ruby Whillock, wife of Austus Wilson Allison
They are Jacob Whillock and Ethel, but I don't yet know their burials.
I will advise when I find them
Thanks for all you do.

Larry Hume
RE: Willie Ratcliff
I am researching all WW I Veterans from Shelby County, Texas and will let you know if I come up with anything. Record keeping wasn't an exact science back then for sure. Thanks for all you are doing to insure they are not forgotten.

Willie Ratcliff
Ref Memorial 67067923 where you posed a Texas WW I Record. This cannot be the same Willie Ratcliff as he was born in 1908 and would have been 10 years old. I see his stone says WW I but I'm sure that is incorrect also.

Johnie Bell

Thanks for the correction on the memorial for Johnie Bell. Had the honor of spending a number of weekends at his home when I was a teenager. He and his wife reared their niece who was my high school basketball coach and the only person my parents trusted me to visit. In addition to spoiling us rotten, Uncle John and Aunt Shug would always make homemade ice cream just for us...

RE: Gethsemane Cemetery
These men could have lived in either Cass or Morris. The town of Naples is in MORRIS county, texas. The cemetery, Gethsemane is in CASS county, Texas, but the closest town is Naples. There is no town where the cemetery is.
Hope this helps

Sandra Bertram Meier
Robert Hodges
His official death certificate shows date of birth as Sept 7 1889. I will use that as official date with reference note to other data. Also says he was buried in Willis African American Cemetery. Will move him there.

Thank you and I need an edit
I totally concur with your sentiments. As you can see I could not figure out how to send you an edit request! Ref: Kelly Leggett Washington #7829172, Trinity Black Cemetery. You have listed Kelly as the "daughter of". My friend is the Granddaughter of Kelly and assures me Kelly is her Grandfather. If you could change daughter to son, we would appreciate it. Again thank you for all your work.

VA Headstones
Thank you for the information on the Veterans Headstones. I have not been able to locate family for that particular Veteran. Some of the cemeteries here have Civil War stones also, and are in need of repair or replacement. If I can get these fixed, I can think of no better way to let these Veterans know how much I appreciate their fight for our freedom.

Rose Hill/Cedar Grove - I remember photographing the stones and the caretaker showed me where a line of large crepe myrtle bushes stood that divided the two cemeteries. They removed the bushes to make more room and now you cannot tell which is which.. Thank you for catching this...

4th great grand daughter
Clara Robinson # 145124525
I have search and searched trying to find any death record of Clara Robinson and can not seem to find any. Although Kirby Lumber Co. went into business there in Silsbee in 1901, and I can't find any record when they decidated the cemetery for the workers, I assume it was within the 1901 era. So what I did was elemiate the death year for her since there is a question as to the exact
year. I want to thank you for your interest in the African American cemeteries, I have been photographing them for 4 years now in Jefferson county and the Silsbee area which included the Kirby cemetery.
