RE: Franklin Newburn had family and a story
You are surely welcome. We transcribe obituaries from newspapers printed in Washington County, Nebraska. One volunteer makes copies from the microfiche, and pastes them onto the permanent cards. Sometimes old newspapers turn up, and those are clipped and put on the cards. Then others of us scan these cards, take them home and transcribe them. I try to send copies of the obits to the various managers (and if the person isn't already in FindaGrave their memorial pretty soon is :) But that is not so for many of the others. It is an on-going process. Any more, when we take photographs in Washington County, I take a passing glance through the newashcogs.org/obits.asp website. Since you do have relatives from the Washington County area, you might visit the website occasionally. Glad we could be of help to you and yours!

Franklin Newburn had family and a story
When we took the photo of Franklin Newburn, we also found the rest of the Newburns in Blair Cemetery and photographed them as well. I sent the obit to the manager of the memorial, and also the GPS coordinates (you can click on them, switch to photo, and zoom in to see tiny tombstones as well as "move" around the cemetery)

Following is the caption for the area photo:
Newburn plot, looking west

Front row, L-R:
tall Woodmen of the World stone: Franklin T. Newburn;
small stone: Alburtus H. Newburn
NSV flower: F.G. Newburn

Back:
large gray stone: Stephen G. Newburn and Elvira, his wife.

Best wishes to you, and hope this helps!

In my profile I give permission for reuse of my photos as long as my watermark is left in tact. I'm sorry that your request wasn't of a fancy headstone, but I only take the photos. Yesterday was my second time to try and locate her headstone. She's buried beside her husband, but only marked by a cement stepping stone.

Please do use the photo in your tree. I apologize that we overlooked photographing his footstone, which is his initials RVO. Next time we are out there, we'll get it and post it.

Thomas family in Mt Pleasant
Good morning Susan,

Just wanted to thank you for the info on the Howard Thomas/Doris family.
Also wanted to let you know that I linked two of their sons, and his parents, and added photos if you care to take a peek.

Thanks again,
Anne

RE: Blanche Devereaux
Hi Susan,
Please feel free to use the photo. The Welcome O. Brown cemetery is fairly large for the size of the town of Barton and Find a Grave does not have many photos for it. There are other Devereaux family members buried there. I hope to get back soon and take some more pics.
Thanks, Rebecca

You are certainly welcome Susan, and yes, you have my permission to use the photos in any way that you would like. I never have a problem with that. I only wish the inscription on the stone was more legible for you to read. I live just down the road from Munyan cemetery and I will stop in again to see if perhaps the sunlight shining on it from a different angle may help to view it a little better. If I can get a better shot I'll post it to her memorial and send you a note.
Best, Tom

RE: Hello Again
Good morning! I have it, not sure which box it is in. I would have to do some digging for it. It has been awhile since I've seen it. It would be this weekend before I can look for it. I don't remember getting the family tree link, but this last year has been a blur and I feel like I'm just getting back on my feet. Can you send again? I've got more pictures too. I will try to get some scanned for you. Have a wonderful day.

RE: Been awhile..
Hey there. Thank you. I have more but just don't have the money right now to pay extra. When I do, I'll get more up. You are welcome to whatever you want to use. I could careless about the "credit". If it makes you happy, take what you would like. My father built that car from scratch. That was in the 70's. He sold it to a guy out of Indiana who drove it on a racetrack. That thing would hit 120mph in 3rd. Amazing some of the stuff he would build. I love that picture of the boys and me. It was a wonderful time for us. I actually have pictures of the boys as babies dressed in their twin suits. Too cute. I could send you more pictures, but just can't pay to put them up yet. Would love to see the family tree.
Well, back to work. You stay in touch.

Been awhile..
Good morning Susan.
Sorry it has been awhile. As you know, this last year was very difficult. Today is the anniversary of Roger's passing and I had to get on here and do some updating. I put some more pictures up on his and my father's memorial. When I get time, I will add some more.
I hope things are well with you.
*hugs*

Sarah (Adams) Allbee
Sorry I do not have a photo of her headstone. It appears that the stone that was in the other photo has been stood up or removed or if it was there at the time I was there; I could not read it as being wife of Elijah..

Sorry I can not help. I live quite aways from Derby, and only go up there rarely...

RE: Ebenezer Cole
Susan, I have to thank you also, I had Sarah in my Family Tree Maker, and this exercise gave me more data for her.

I think Family Search has added more records recently.

If you create a memorial for her please link it to Ebenezer.

Thanks, Cal

RE: Ebenezer Cole
Susan, I dug around a little more and I think I found Sarah. Pull up Elijah's Find A Grave memorial and look at the two gravestone pictures. ( expand them) One stone shows a broken stone lying down on the left of Elijah's. The other picture shows a stone behind Elijah's with the name Sarah. And the stone lying down is not there. Someone propped it up.

Also check Sarah Cole's death records on Family search, there are two. One shows her passing in Charleston and the other is issued by Derby Center and shows her buried in the Derby Center Cemetery.

Hope this helps, Cal

RE: Ebenezer Cole
Hi Susan, yes, I'm related to Ebenezer. As to Sarah, I have no idea as to where she is buried. The only knowledge I have about her is the marriage card in Family Search. Do you know anything about her first husband? She may be buried with him. I am willing to do what I can to provide more connections to her.

Deb
Gene McClendon
Ok, so he was Henry Gene McClendon 1940-2014 ... someone made him a pg and put him in Restwood Memorial Park. Don't know how they would "know" he is there since the obit did not give final disposition. That contributor has a habit of doing that. They also have his death date wrong even though its in the portion of obit they posted. His info is chopped up on his pg. You might want to have them to correct the pg. He is # 129965795.

Hi Susan, can you provide me with a full copy of that obit for Gene? (a link to a newspaper or the funeral home)

RE: Lucinda Chase
I found Norman Chase and Elisha Chase, but their photographs were already on here. I also found Carroll F. Chase, and added my photo to his memorial page. There is a Chase family monument around these headstones as well. I'd be happy to send that to you. I'll also see if I can find a good place on Find A Grave to add that.

Have a great day!
Courtney

RE: Lucinda Chase
Susan,

It was my pleasure. We stumbled upon this cemetery while out exploring, so I didn't have a whole lot of time to search before it got dark. There were some other headstones next to Lucinda's that I photographed if you're interested in having those. You may absolutely use my photo for your family tree...that's what it for! But I appreciate you asking.
