DO you have anymore information on this headstone? I am wondering if he had any siblings or his parents names?
Any information you have would be great, thank you

|Ann||RE: John O'Rourke|
You are welcome. I had created a shortcut to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs main website years ago. It is surprising what little tidbits we know about and assume everyone else knows about. I'm glad that I sent that first message to you. It always feels good to help another.

If you click 'Los Angeles National Cemetery' it will take you the the main page of that cemetery. On that page there is a link to
www.cem.va.gov .... it will take you to the web page for Los Angeles Nat'l Cem. on the VA website.
Click Grave Locator and you can search there.
I hope that this helps you to find other family.

|Rick McIntyre||RE: John George & Regina Geitner|
Sorry but I don't have any pictures of John or Regina or any of their children. I do have pics of a few of the grandchildren but not many. This was one of the things I was hoping to do while I was up "home" but didn't get around to. One week was just not enough time to see everyone and get all the things done that I wanted to do.
I did manage to get several family photos but none of the Geitner's ~~ unfortunately. Maybe next year.

|Rick McIntyre||RE: John Nicholas Geitner|
Feel free to add a picture if you so desire.
I am sorry that I don't have a photo of John George Geitner's tombstone. I just got back home (Orlando, FL) from my annual trip back to where I was born and grew up (St. Marys, PA). I make a trip back for a week or two each September so I won't be able to get you a photo until next year.
LMK if you need any other info on John's family as he was married to Regina Wickett and the Wicketts are a main branch of my family (my grandmother was a Wickett).

You wrote me: searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave
Details: They have been cleaning and restoring the grave stones in conjunction with the restoration of the chapel so I searched the cemetery and took pictures of all the stones. I'm afraid I did not find an intact stone for Abraham Simmons. There are several piles of fragments and partial stones. I did find a stone with most of the name broken off and the remainder of the stone is difficult to read. At the very top there is ...ch and below that ...mons. If you like, I can send you a picture of this stone. ~Sandra Moore
You actually found the grave & didn't realize it!
I just revisited the cemetery and realized there are two; Abraham R. Simmons (mine) and A. R. Simmons. The latter (A. R.) was listed first (so I guess I accidentally created and paid to sponsor a dup), the (A. R.) was created by someone who is now inactive: 16416674 it has no bio, links or birth date. In fact, when I added Abraham R. Simmons, I did find his wife Susanna already added by the same user (then active) and gave her some info to add to the memorial and I added my Abraham R. Simmons link as her husband. You can see a link to my name from Susanna's page in the bio section: 16416661
I'm not sure what to do. I will contact admin and ask them to straighten it out.

|William Ledgewood||Lost Graveyards|
I wasn't aware that was happening at this day and time. I'm in Tennessee and Mississippi, yep roving through graveyards taking pictures of "kinfolk", when my Aunt told me of the very thing happening along the Tennessee River. A couple of graveyards that the farmers plowed and are growing "corn" of all things. Thanks for you time and effort. If you do come across and Ledgewoods, Ledgwoods, etc. I would appreciate it if you would forward the info to me. Thanks, Bill L.

Thank you for finding Walter Jackson's burial site. I wonder why there is no upright stone there? Vandals maybe? And how did you find him?

|William Ledgewood||Malinda Ledgwood|
I was under the impression, as long as family were still alive that they would not tamper with a grave site. I know California has that law. I want to thank you for your time and effort. Thanks again, Bill Ledgewood
