Audrey Johnson
Sarah Frederick
Hi Debbie

My name is Audrey Johnson and I claimed the search for Sarah Frederick. Prairie Grove Cemetary has no record of Sarah but I have located a gravesite in the Prairie Grove area that is listed as Sarah Elizabeth "Sallie" Phillips Frederick. Could this be the same one. There is an obituary listed in Find A Grave under that name if you want to verify other names in the obituary. If it is her I will call and make arrangements with the own to see if there is a gravestone. It is evidently a very small cemetery on someone's farm. Just let me know.

Christopher Pense request
Here is the answer from the cemetery office:
"Thanks for you inquiry on Christopher C. Pense.
Our record search revealed very few hard copy records that remain from the early 1900s. We could find no signed burial orders for Martha Pence, James R. Pence or Christopher C. Pence. Also "Pense".
The original "hard copy" map shows the burials as follows:
Martha Pence - Block 28 Lot 2 Grave 6
James R. Pence - Block 28 Lot 2 Grave 4
Sometime after the map was created C. C. was penciled into Block 28 Lot 2 Grave 4 in the same site as James R. Pence.
Both gravesites have been probed and are occupied.
Our most reliable record is the District "hard copy" interment maps.

This means Christopher was placed in his father's grave, & therefore the only marker is the one for James to show where Christopher also lies. I'm putting a photo of James's marker with a notation that this shows where Christopher is buried also.

Christopher Pense request
I went to Sanger Cem. today & discovered a "mystery". I found James R. "Pence" was at the gravesite listed for C. C. Pense & that James R. Pence [Christopher's father] was not in the cemetery's gravesite locator at all. There was no other Pense/Pence around the stone except for Martha, Christopher's mother. So either Christopher was buried in his father's gravesite also [cremation?] or someone made an error in transcribing the info. online.
I plan on contacting the cemetery to ask if Christopher is buried along with James R. & to notify them about the absence of James R. in their "Gravesite Locator". Also to look for an obituary for Christopher, hopefully with a cemetery listed if he is in Fresno Co. & his father.

You are welcome. Was glad to do it. Wished the others were there. There is empty spaces next to these, but didn't think you wanted an empty lot photo.

Emma Stacy was in Hendricks Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK. Her memorial # is 23290718.
Just a suggestion, when you ask a question, put the person's name in the subject line. The word "headstone" makes it really hard to narrow down to the dozens of photos I take when on vacation. Anyway, her stone looked red but didn't photograph that way. You can see that her name was just scratched in the stone. It wasn't professionally done. It is obviously just scratched in by someone.

I meant Emma Stacy. Yes it is posted. It doesn't look as red as it did that day. I also posted a photo of the Stacy family. Her flat stone was on the ground to the left of the upright stones. check what I wrote in the memo for the two photos I posted.

What is the name of the ancestor? I posted everything I had. If it is Emma Stone, yes I posted it. Did you check the Find A Grave memorial page?

We went back and found her. Don't know if my last e-mail went through. She does not have a headstone. There is a red stone with Emma carved on it. It is next to her husband. I will post the photo later.

OK. I found it. She doesn't have a headstone. It is a flat red fieldstone with her name scratched in it. Will post later. I am on vacation in OK from my home in Jersey.

RE: headstone wells
Ok, I found the pic.
It's in a family cemetery east of Oquawka, across the Henderson Creek, north up what is called Little Brick Road.
As the roads takes a Y it's on top a hill about 100 yards straight up through a lot of brush.
I've heard the place referred to as Wells Cemetery.
Legend has it that John Pence was buried there then removed to Rosetta Cemetery.
All the burials for this little cemetery are listed as being in the Biggsville Cemetery.
Sorry if I confused you any, didn't mean to do that.

Please give me the memorial number for the photo you are speaking of, I can't find any photo in my files for her. Maybe I deleted it, so I need to see it again.

Stephen Kronberg
Andrew Axelson at Acacia
Your note on your photo request for "a photo of the actual headstone" for Andrew cannot be done. Click on the photos on this memorial, Andrew's cremated remains are in a book-style urn, which is described if you click on the photo. You will also get a clearer version of the photo.
Thank you for the request, Stephen

I would like to pick up your photo request but Sparkman Hillcrest (SH) will not provide burial locations to volunteers, citing privacy issues. There are actually three mausoleums at SH. Hillcrest Mausoleum, the largest, takes over an 2 hours to walk if you are looking at every entombment. Your cooperation is needed in order for your request to be filled. The volunteers will need you to call SH and request the location. Their phone number is 214-363-5401. Once you have the location, please email me and I will get your photo. Thanks.
