Many called him by his nickname "Red". I have linked his wife my Aunt to his memorial. Thanks so much for your memorials of all these soldiers.

I have created one for myself at my member site, it takes about 5 seconds to create, and then you go to each of your own mems and put them in it.
ANY memorial that applies can be added to it, so that you have a useful public Virtual cemetery, in case someone asks for a xfer for genealogical purposes, and you give up management of one of the crew members, or like Hullar, you never had them in the first place. I only looked for a few standout names to populate mine as an example for you, since there are many too common names in the 303rd and I do not have time to research all of them. I found Bud Klint and a couple others.

Plainly the "Bud" Klint from the 303rd

|Clinton Slayton||A suggestion and a question|
If you create a Virtual Cemetery (public), and call it "Hell's Angel" or "303rd BG WWII" or some such. you can keep the crew members together whether you manage them or not, and visitors can see them easily in one place.
Is it possible that the Robt J Hullar in the Moravian cemetery (PA I think) is the 303rd man? It is the right age (b 1917), but I do not know enough to identify him. If this seems to be him, this would be an example of a member of your Virtual Cemetery.

|Clinton Slayton||Fred Creel|
Gary & Suzy, put Fred B Creel's image out there, but I also got his presumed parents, and xferred them to the original poster, which is a convention that I follow. If you want these, contact the memorial mgr for Fred Creel. Since neither you nor he are related to the CREELS, it is difficult to know who to xfer to, since your main interest is his being a 303rd crew member. (I just finished reading the updated "Half a Wing, Three Engines, [etc]" very good!)
You may remember me, I have a website for the crew of the Sharon Belle, (427th sqd) which was "loaned" to the 303rd for a few missions. The photo posted on the 303rd website showing Andrew Bilek's crew is in fact, Charles Kelly's crew, his dau lives here in Bham. My uncle Charles is in that photo, as is, if I remember correctly, Joe Savicki. I would really like to see that image properly identified, I know some of them flew with Bilek, but it is misleading because Bilek went down with another crew, and Kelly survived the war, and flew in Korea and beyond.

I would be more than happy to take your requested picture in Elmwood Cemetery (Birmingham, Alabama). This cemetery, however, spans over 412 acres and I would need the block and lot numbers, as well as the sectional (N S E W) if applicable.
The Elmwood Cemetery office can be reached by calling 205-251-3114.
I look forward to helping,

When you call to get more info from the cemetery, please try to get a general description of where in the cemetery it would be. I do not know the cemetery well, and I do not have a map of the cemetery, so I do not know how to find anything by plot numbers. Unless of course if you get the plot #'s and if they can email you a map of the cemetery, that would be VERY helpful.

If you can get more information about Norman Putney as to where in the cemetery he would be located I would be happy to look again. I spent almost 2 hours in Oakland Cemetery today looking, but did not find his grave. Its a large cemeterey, and they seem to be filling it in somewhat randomly, so I'm not really even sure where to begin looking.

You are welcome. I'm sorry they don't look the best. The cemetery was extremely overgrown, and the military marker was so grown over we had to pull grass out to reveal what we could. It was one of those times I wished I had brought some grass clippers and a broom along. It was really sad to see that this relatively new cemetery was in such sad shape.

Hello. Regarding your photo request at Restland. Requests are not likely to be filled without plot information. As the cemetery is over 400 acres with multiple mausoleums, this information is pertinent. The office does not have time to look up info and is now taking person info from non-family members for HIPPA purposes. If you'd like your request to be filled, please call them at 972-238-7111 - Hours are from 9am-6pm CST Monday-Sunday. You can also send them an e-mail requesting plot info by visiting their contact page at: http://www.restlandfuneralhome.com/home/contact_us.html -- If you're able to, please revise the persons profile page with known plot info so that volunteers can proceed. Thank you and have a good day.

You have a photo request at this cemetery. Restland is a huge cemetery 400 acres and 100,000 graves. Would you mind calling the office and ask for the plot location. Their phone # is 972-238-7111.
If you can get the location, we will do our best to get the photo for you.

Glad to do it. Sorry there is some shading from the grass. Will try & get a better picture in the near future. If successful will replace it.
It says he was in Stalag 13 if that helps at all.
