RE: Herbert Mattingly #46370051
Finally, I can put this issue to rest. Thank you so very much.

This is a long shot because I know Louisville is a big place, but I have a lady who is in possession of two letters written by Bernice Wilodean Mattingly Bratcher which she would like to return to a family member. The only child I know of is Norman Bratcher, last known living in Louisville.

Have you by any chance ever discovered the name of His father? We know his mother was Mary Effie Lee Mattingly.

Hi, Cousins! Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, I didn't see the email you sent me with "genealogy information". What email did you send it to? Could you please re-send the information to my email address: My brother, cousins and I would really appreciate it!

Dolores & Danny,
Thanks for taking the Picture for me. I was hoping it would clarify the spelling of his name. No such luck. That's the way life goes lots of times, isn't it?

Thank you for adding the nice photo of his marker. I appreciate your help with Find A Grave. The photographs and obits that are added to each memorial provides genealogists with more tools to run down research for family trees. Sometimes it would be impossible to trace them otherwise. Your time and effort add more pieces to the puzzle. Thank you.

Hi Delores...long time since we chatted.

I have a favor...any chance I could get Snook and Barbara's memorials transferred to me? Snook was Dads nephew and I grew up with Steve and Marsha and Carol and Brenda.

Snooks memorial number is 125366100.

Gladys Beatrice Hardin Clemens
Hi Dolores,
On your transferred memorial from Francie Ede to you for Gladys Clemens # 45748570 , she is buried in a cemetery that I am not aware exists here in Nelson county. She is buried in the Nelson County Baptist church Cemetery? Her obit reads she is buried in the Nelson county Baptist church Cemetery, but I believe that is a mistake and that they do not have a cemetery. There are only three other entries for that cemetery by 2 people. Thanks for your help

Hi. So I am something of a catastrophe researcher. I may have contacted you before, Im not sure. I was visiting the graves of Katherine Dahl-Reese and family, and found she shared a plot with Barth: Anna, CF, and the Meyers. I have no idea if there is any connection but Katherine's daughter Sophie married John Bohn. Their son Roger is my grandfather. So I just thought it coincidental that your name is Bohn, and you have a memorial on the Barth graves here on findagrave. Is there a connection between these two families? I thought perhaps Anna Barth and Anna Kohlund (Katherine's mother, also in the same plot) may be sisters? Just a hunch. Anyway, thats it. Just wondering if you know!! Thank you, Cathy (Bohn) Fitzgerald.

RE: Re: Nannie Mae West Fields
Nannie has 2 sons who died in Indiana which I would love to have:
1. Edward Fields b. 28 Jan 1905 Nelson Co., KY and died Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN, buried Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Johnson Co., IN. He is Findagrave Memorial 121052341. He is the one I am most interested in, if Louisville gives you access to Indiana newspapers. I was told by my aunt that he died in a car crash which involved fire.

2. Daniel Theodore Fields b. 26 Jan 1914 Nelson Co., KY, died 7 Sep 1958 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN and buried in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Johnson Co., IN. His Findagrave Memorial #121052338

Their father and Nannie's husband is William L. "Will" Fields. I don't have a death date on Will, so don't worry about him.

Can I get you some obits. from Nelson County? I have 1900-1935 digitized and searchable, which makes it much easier and quicker to find them. Can't thank you enough for any of these 3.

Merle Owen
I was wondering if you know where Merle's sister, Ora May Owen Morris may be buried? I'm also looking for death information on James William Morris her husband. Ora shows up in the 1930 and 1940 Census, stating she's married, but James William Morris is not listed with her. I think I found him in Illinois in 1940, but don't know where he was in 1930.

James is my husband's 1st cousin, 3 Xs removed.

Thanks for any help!

Been researching the Taylor's and Browns for a long time. I have the info on James Henry Taylor and Mary Letitia Rose Yates children.

One son has not been included in the genealogy and once I share this info I am hoping someone has the answer!

Okay, the "forgotten son" is John William Taylor born 6-6-1890 and died 5-28-1939 in Nelson Co., Ky from an automobile accident. His DC lists his parents.

Ok, John William Taylor married Mary Elizabeth Lizzie Brown on 5-3-1916. In 1920' John and Elizabeth Taylor were living in District 2, Botland, Nelson County, Ky.

In 1930, they were living in Dist. 2, Nelson Co., Ky

In 1940' Elizabeth Brown Taylor is a widow living in Springfield, Washington Co., Ky with the following children:

Robert, William, Edward, Geneva and Beulah.

Now the mystery: The Brown Mystery......

James M Brown married 1st Elizabeth Downs. She died before 1900. Their children were as follows:

Henry Clay Brown, Samuel Joseph Brown, Rosa Bell Brown, Annie Virginia Brown, Arch Brown and LIZZIE BROWN born in 1892. I initially though this was the Lizzie Brown who married John William Taylor but her age in census records don't match up.

Ok, between 1900-1902 James Brown marries Mary Edna Hall and they had a daughter Mary born 1902. By 1920, James Brown is deceased and Mary Edna Hall Brown is married to Joseph Taylor and Mary that was born in 1902 is not living with them.

So I believe Mary Elizabeth Lizzie Browns parents are James Brown and Mary Edna Hall. And this Elizabeth Brown was the wife of John William Taylor.

The mystery? I cannot locate her grave nor when she died. I can find all the Taylor's except for Elizabeth Brown Taylor. John and Elizabeth Brown Taylor had a son named John William Taylor born 9-22-1923 in Nelson Co., KY and died 10-15-2009. He is buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Bloomfield, Nelson Co., Ky. Was married to JoAnn Chesser.

If anyone can help me find out when and where Mary Elizabeth Lizzie Brown Taylor died I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Sherri Hale Slaton
