|Waunita M Herron||Amos Reed marriage!|
Thank you for looking even if you did not get the results I had hoped for. The actual license was gotten earlier than the marriage took place. The wedding guests arrived at Joel Sanfords home and also the bride, but no groom showed up. Finally all went home. No way to get a message to his bride that his mother Currance Sanford Reed was critically ill and the Dr. said for him to leave might bring on her death. She revived and live about 20 more years.

Thank you so much for the transfer of my GG Grandfather Simon.
As for marriage records, my G Grandfather Amos Reed and Elizabeth Marie Fargusson were married at the home of his Uncle, Rev.Joel Sanford, on Oct. 25th, 1855 in Peoria Co. Illinois. Is there any record of this available?

|Kim Hanks||Judge Andrew Hunt|
I wondered if you would consider writing a piece on the Judge for the Prairie Roots Peoria County Genealogical Society.
I came upon the Judge when I realized he was one of the first owners of my property in West Peoria and then also noticed he owned my grandparents property in Kickapoo.
Thanks for considering this. I am fascinated by him.

I'm searching for the McCabe family and noticed you have Patrick H McCabe listed. I cannot find an obit or any documentation, however, of his d.o.d. Can you confirm this? Also, what I really need to know is if Patrick H McCabe is the brother of Elizabeth McCabe, who married Alexander McDonnell.
Any assistance you can give me is greatly appreciated!

If you know Peoria county, you just might want to take this & run with it!
That's okay with me. Please keep me posted.

Are corrections for One Foot in the Grave being taken care of? I know I don't get anything in my email concerning them and was just wondering if anybody else does. I know John used to do them.

|Dave Wetzler||Follow up on Jacob Best|
I have found Jacob and Elizabeth Best in the 1850 US Census for Illinois which lists his and Elizabeth's birthplaces as Darmstadt.
I'd be happy to send the image to you.

|Alva Van Houten ||John Elson|
Thanks for the correction on my John Elson memorial. It sure looked like 1852 with that moss on the year, but census and the cemetery book were 1832. Now I wonder if he was a Civil War soldier???

Mel, You did great!!! I knew Mary and Josephine real well and met Susan a few times. I still can't believe that Mary's gone. I was out at Princeville a couple weeks ago at the Heritage Days at the Museum and went by Mary and Josephine's home. I don't believe Josephine is there any more is she? John Zimri Slane lived well into the 1900's and the grandchildren remembered him and some of the stories he told. I remember the first time I was in Mary and Josephine's home listening to the same stories that they had heard. I was getting this just second hand, as close as you can get these days. Check John's bio in a few days and let me know if there is anything that you want me to add that I don't add. I would do anything for Mary, Josephine, Susan and John. Thanks for trusting me with John's Find A Grave site. I consider it a great honor. Check out my virtual cemetery for Co. K and some of the biographies that I am working on. Take care and let's get together in the Princeville Cemetery sometime. Baxter

Thank you for the message. I wanted to let you know that I have the obituary for Roy as printed in the "Peoria Journal Star" on Sunday, October 26, 1980. Nettie Cooper was mentioned as his 1st wife in his obituary. Had already found him in the SSDI but got his obituary to make sure I had the right man. Roberta

|Gary Schulte||RE: Slane Family|
That is exactly who I am looking for. I thought I had some good information, but then her mother's birthdate didn't make any sense.
I appreciate any information you have. I have also heard from my family she might have had some Indian ancestors and from others she was Cajun/Creole. I haven't been able to confirm either.
My e-mail address is email@example.com

I am related to Daniel Fletcher Slane and Mahala Lafollette.
Do you have any information on Mahala Lafollette? I show she died in 1892 in Rosefield Township, Peoria County, Illinois.
I would be willing to share any information I have.

I don't have alot of information..... most of what I have came from John himself. I'd be willing to look a little.... not sure what I will find as I am more of a New England specialist. I'll see what I can come up with...its a very rainy and cold day. Kevin
