RE: Tharp headstone Bethel Cemetery
No, it is gone. When people challenge burials in IA, often I am incorrect because I just input what I was given and I don't know if it was right.

Elyse, Well I went to Winslow and I was shocked to say the least. I had only driven through twice in the last 50 years and really did not get off the old highway. Sad hardly defines it. It is a mess. I will not be gong back either. And, I did not see one person I knew. Are we that old? Of course I am. The Blevins family I have lived around Cresent City in Oklahoma. Does that sound like anything to you? Thank you for writing back.

Hello Elyse, No I did not receive an email but..with reason. I have a new computer and have not stopped to set another one up. Sorry.

I went to Winslow this weekin, the 3rd time in 50 years, lol. I sure remember why I left. To see it in the shape it is in today well, it breaks my heart.

Hope you leave your message on this site.

Olin Brantley Gause
After research, I believe Virginia Barker Gause was married to Olin Bacot Gause.

Links seem to indicate that Olin (Olen, Oland) Brantley Gause was married to Lena V.

Are you able to change your Grave website? Each name leads to an entirely different ancestral line.

Thank you,
Vicki Hardin Aubrey
Boon Hardin married Sallie Gause,
Sallie's mother was Virginia Barker who married Olin Bacot Gause.

Elyse, Just forgot to ask about your Blevins family. Were any of them from Missouri? I have a few of them listed on Find A Grave if you would check my files. Funny things happen doing this. Even found that Butch Young is a distant cousin of mine. lol Anyway, some of my Blevins family ended up in Oklahoma too.

RE: Winslow
Elyse, Thank you for the note. Diana died 10 years ago and her only son, David, 2 years before her. I hate it when I have something to tell her and can't. She would have been so tickled to hear about you. So you live in Wy. How fun. When I left Winslow I went to Corralls, New Mexico and we lived on a small farm there. I divorced after 18 years and just never wanted to marry again. My parents died in 70 and 71. I live in the town of Maricopa with my son and my daughter lives in the valley. I have thought about people in Winslow but I guess we all do, just a part of getting older. They never get older when we don't see them later. You and your sister were the most pretty girls in town.

Elyse, I don't think yu would remember me but perhaps my sister, Diana Doile. I was looking up famiy for Butch and Carol Sue and saw the flowers you left. I remember you very well and every few years I go to the Winslow picknick held in Sun City West. Funny but the only ones that attend are around our ages. lol This year maybe I will see you. I live down in Maricopa, AZ and it takes me just over an hour to get there but I actually worked out there for about15 years. It is nice to know we are both still around.

I have transferred this memorial to you, so you can make any corrections. I found the obit on and it may have listed the wrong name. I took this pic and when there was no memorial I created one and posted the pic.

Smith family
I am a descendant of William - Ambrose - John Mayfield Sr - John Mayfield Jr. - Sanoma Smith. My mother is Sanoma's daughter. Are we in the same line or at least 'cousins'? I am searching for more info on any of the family. Love the research but Smith is very difficult! thanks, cathy

You're welcome. This time of the year is great. It's warm here and during the day around 65 -70 degrees. Today was great; not too hot and not cold at all.

RE: Daughter Jennings
Many of the Jennings family who were buried here are in the northeast corner of the cemetery and there is several places where old stones could have been located. Due to death date I would guess this burial is in northeast corner of cemetery.

Just a Hello!
I was doing some updating on Anna Mae, and thought of you. I keep wishing I'd discover another family member in your part of the world so we'd have another "project" to work on together. I hope you're having a beautiful spring day, like we've been having here! I so appreciate all you did for me.
