I put in a photo request for this memorial and got an email today that you had fulfilled it, but there is no photo on the memorial? I put in another request, please do not click 'Fulfill' unless you have a legible photo of the headstone. Thanks! LG

Hi Frances, Long time no see! It seems like ever since I moved into our new place back in 2014/2015, I have just not had the time to get back to doing what I love and missed it and you all, I surely have however I am currently employed with a work at home job now and this pretty much takes up my whole day (9 hours at the least)so sadly I still won't be on here too much but I do hope this msg finds you doing well! I wanted to stop in and give you a heads up of one of my distant cousin's who is Callie's great great grand-daughter aswell. She is hoping to find out what Callie's "middle" name was "if you happen to know", as I don't however, "might" be able to find out through Coyt's wife "my Granny Margie. Anyways, I gave Halli your profile link, so she may be reaching out soon. I would truly appreciate any info you might be able to bestow on her and As always much love to you and yours Frances!

Gleann na Aoire
Joseph Welch of Macon County
Dear Frances,

Joseph is buried in the old Welch Cemetery in Macon County. It is in the Burningtown community, but I couldn't tell you exactly where. I've been there, but it was about 20 years ago. There is a barbed wire fence around it to keep the cows out. It took some real digging to find this one. Unfortunately, I have no pics.

Joseph's wife was Catherine DECK, daughter of Jacob Deck (signed his name TACH), son of immigrant Johann Hendrick Deck/Tach and his wife Catherine Barbara Frolich. Jacob's Revolutionary War pension is #S7677.

Thanks for your story on Joseph. I'm proud to be a Welch descendant.

Philip

At this point I can't remember where my info came from - I'm not related and have no personal knowledge. Sounds like you have better info so I'll delete my memorial. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Rosetta's father was Robert Andrew Bailey who died in 1942 from suicide and whose burial place is unknown to me. Her mother, Hannah Bradford Bailey Hammett, was my great aunt.

Thank you for all that you do.

RE: Ronnie Gene Burchfield
Thank you so much Frances for informing me of my Burchfield lineage. I'm going to add in some new names beyond Alden Howell Burchfield. I am also curios about Anna McKinney and if we're related to the McKinneys at all besides Nathan's wife.

RE: Re: William Harvey Rogers
Thanks for the reply Frances! That is probably the answer. My Grandmother Ethel was 13 (and the oldest) at the time of America's death in child birth. She went back to Swain Co. NC to live with America's parents then. There were younger siblings so I always wondered who took care of them. Ethel died in 1973 before I started genealogy. My mother knew nothing about Harve Rogers so I'm guessing he was the "black sheep" in the family. I will keep digging!

Marley Lowe
Close Burchfield decendant
Hello Frances, my name is Marley Lowe and I am the eldest grandchild of Ronnie Gene Burchfield. I am doing genealogy on his family tree and I am asking you if you know his relationship to Nathaniel Burchfield who married Anna McKinney. I saw that you posted on both groups of families and I just thought maybe we're all cousins. I hope to hear from you soon and thank you.
