Thank you for the headstone photos for Cecil, Stella and Carroll. I didn't know where Cecil and Stella were buried, so this was new information for me. Also, thanks for creating a memorial for them. I sent some additional information through the edit process. I appreciate you taking time to do all of this.

Thank you so much for agreeing to go over to the cemetery and look for the Clarence and Clara Nickols graves when it warms up. My husband asked me to thank you for doing this for us!

|Marty & Harley||Nichols|
I just looked on the KIOSK that I have pictures of that is located at the Villisca Cemetery. He is listed as C. O. Nichol Rose Hill Section, Bock 3 Lot 22 She is listed as Clara Nickols same location.
I have found that the city hall records in Villisca aren't always correct. I have found persons that are on the KIOSK and have taken pictures of the grave and went down to find more info and they don't have them in their records. Maybe they are listed as Nichol or Nichols??? I walked the Arlington Cemetery and post the pics and there is no record of them being there. Hope this helps. The only other thing to do is go to the Page County Court House and look up their death records.

|Martha Segrest Dickey||RE: Clarence Nickols obit|
Thank you for trying to find the tombstone. It looks like a huge cemetery so I know it would be very hard to find without direction. I'm not sure if my husband will ever get to Iowa so all you've done so far is a great gift to him. Thank you.

|Martha Segrest Dickey||Thank you for adding Clarence Nickols obit|
Sherry, Thank you so much for adding the obit for my husband's great grandfather Clarence Nickols. I'm not sure where you found it or if you are related to my husband's family.
Again we are truly grateful. This is a wonderful document.

She would be my great aunt also :) What I was interested in is the photo that is on the headstone, do you have an up close picture of it? I would love a copy and could you post it on the memorials? My cousins and I are genealogy buffs. I'm not sure how we are connected, but my maternal grandma was a Crees.

Sherry, I also have photos for Gordon, Francis (Frank), and Mary. There are also two other McClintock burials there which I photographed; they are for Alice L. 1879-1948 (daughter) and Stanley H. Mar 21, 1892 - Jan 7, 1979 (veteran of WWI). If you add these last two I will upload their photos. Ken S.

I am a Vermont Civil War buff and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our C.W. Vets that had Vermont ties. May I use the photo you have posted for Cornelius Newell's Memorial page, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilear.org) You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Hey Sherry. I live in Emerson so makes it easy to research slot of my memorials, most of which are my relations. I have several resources. Court house, and libraries are the main ones. Red Oak museum is a great resource. Even city halls are great. The Villisca city hall has slit if obits and your library also. Some newspapers are online. Have fun hunting😍

You are so welcome, Sherry!
However, I am so disappointed that the stones were so covered with lichen that you can barely read them . I felt really bad about that & wondered if I should even post them.
But, since one is not allowed to 'clean' them, there isn't much else I could do.

You are more than welcome.
I found it in some things my Mom had saved. She was friends with them when we all lived in the same neighborhood near Craig.
I went to the "Bucktown" school with Marilyn.
Mom and Carl attended some college classes together one summer.
We used to see Janice at the Oakland hospital.
Now you have more info than you wanted. :)

This info is in part from Ancestry.com - it lists seven known children and four unknown children; all mothered by Susannah (STEADMAN).

Dorphan Priest did not pass away until 2015, a findagrave should have never been added in 2008. According to the rules of findagrave, you are not to add someone until they are deceased. I have asked the person to remove it. If they do not, I will send a message to findagrave.

I do not remember the original source I used, but there are several confirmations from Ancestry.com files that his parents are Henry & Susannah PRIEST.
