Byron Bailey
Washington Bailey
Hi Courtney,

Well, after looking at your bio, I see that we are probably not related on my Bailey side, but my grandmother was a Barnes, although from around the old village of Barnesville in Macon County. So, how did you happen to take those great photos of the headstones of my 3rd great-grandparents?

You said that you were asking for more information on your families, so there could be a possibility with my Barnes side, but as you probably know, the Rowland family is quite well known in Boone County and as a matter of fact, I think at least two Rowland families were neighbors of Washington Bailey in the 1850 census of District 8 of Boone County. I don't know what the township name is now, but maybe you can find out for us.

I also just downloaded a book of the History of Northeast Missouri that I will see if I can send you a link for. The Rowlands are mentioned several times.

Thanks, please get in touch with me.

RE: Alspach/Alspaw

I'm glad you found something you were looking for. Christianna(Alspach)Duncan was my wife's Great Great Great Grandmother on her mother's side. I've done quite a bit of research on that family. From many different sources I have traced the Alspach (or Alspaugh, Alspaw, or any of it's many spellings) back to ca.1622 in Switzerland, where they came from before going to Germany and then America. The information is as complete as I could find. I found that the Alspach's first settled in Pennsylvania, and then your line went to Ohio, and then finally ended up in Missouri, where Henry Alspach (1810-1895) and his third wife died and are buried. Henry's first wife(Anna Heckert)is buried in Ohio, but I don't know where his second (Elizabeth Polm) wife is buried. The pictures I posted came from a relative of my wife who found them in the attic of an old house that an Alspach relative lived in years and years ago.

If you would like me to send you a copy of the Alspach family line that I have put together I would be happy to do that, no charge. My email is Send me an email and I will attach it to the reply.

Nice to hear from you,
Glen DeYoung

Eva Dean Rogers Weeks
I recently got more information on Eva Dean Rogers Weeks. First I found out that she is buried in Carrington Baptist Church Cemetery in Callaway County, can you or anyone you know of in the area search the church cemetery to confirm this? Finally the year of her passing I've seen 1986 and 1996 and not sure which one is correct do you or anyone in the area know of which one is correct? Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: Hogan Family in Webster County, Missouri
Green is my oldest known Hogan ancestor. My grandmother is Find A Grave memorial # 114785577. Other than a census record saying he was born in Kentucky, I have found no other information as to his family prior to marriage. I'd love to know more, but I don't see that happening outside of dna testing. It looks like some Hogans also wound up in Webster Co through Tennessee. I have no idea if or how they are related. Thanks for the contact, let me know if there's anything else I can tell you, or if you find anything else you find. I'd love to see it.

Selma Still #96852531

Was wondering if you were related to Selma? She was an aunt to my grandmother Eulah (Still) Blew and I would love to take over her memorial if possible (YankeeGraver #47149312). If you are related to her I totally understand you not wanting to, but would love to be considered in this matter. I would like to also take over her son's memorial if possible (Frederick I Still #96852492).

Thank You! and thank you for your volunteer work as this is how I found them!

Anyway check it out and I hope you can help me figure out what it says and I hope I'm not right that it says, "Beloved and tormented" on the first line.

Check it out when you get a chance , please. T/U Roxanne
