Bryant Transferrs (your g-g grandparents)
I know you didn't ask, but I transferred your g-g grandparents to you.
Earlier in 2015, I had called the mortuary verifying that they were in-fact buried there and where.
I found their death records while I was searching for Blanche Meyers-Bryant who was my grandma's long-lost 1/2 sister.

Anyway-I updated Harris to Harrison, but left RJ's mom's maiden name for you to determine if you think I had sufficient or accurate info to substantiate it.

Take care, Happy New Yea..and could you let me know if you knew Blanche (step-daughter to your g-grandfather Charles Bryant) or Elvie VanWinkel-Bryant (who was your g-grandfathers 2nd sife after Katie?

Hope you have pics or stories, as I have been trying to track them down

RE: RJ Bryant
Ok-for RJ Bryants mom's maiden name, I found a North Carolina Marriage Bond (Image # 007453) and Record # 01 030.
The Bond and Marriage date is 29 Mar 1857

It was in Halifax County

The witness was Wm W Daniel.

Marriage between Joseph J Bryant and Nancy Smitick.

Is this your RJ Bryant and Nancy?

If not I can correct the memorial.

Also, I can't find Harris (instead of Harrison), so I will correct.

Talk to you soon

RE: RJ Bryant
Hi-haven't researched yet..but I am excited that you found the memorials. I am not related to the Bryants. Charles Bryant and Katie divorced, and Charles then married Evie VanWinkel. Evie VanWinkel was my grandmothers step-mom for a short while and had my grandma's 1/2 sister Blanche Meyers while married to my g-grandfather Charles E Meyers in New Mexico. Anyway-as you can see, it's a family-mess..LOL.

Who's child of Katie's are you decended from?

Talk to you soon

William Amy, et al.
Hello! I am about to fulfill your photo request but unfortunately, it is a photo of the area, only. None of the Amys in this plot have headstones. The office confirmed this, and also that another son is buried with them, Claude Leroy Amy. I created a memorial for him.

I am sorry this was not a more positive outcome. I am always disappointed when there is no headstone.

Best regards,

RE: Isabel Owen Hert
Hello, my cousin lives in Bloomfield and created this memorial. My guess is the best place to find it would be the library in Bloomfield.

THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Friday, May 11, 1906, Volume XXX, Number 25, Page 1, Columns 3 & 4, DEATHS. Hert,Isabel Owen [Transcribed from Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library’s Microfilm Records.

Mrs. Isabel HERT, for sixty years a resident of Greene County, died her last Saturday morning at 7 oÂ’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice FIELDS, as the result of a stroke of paralysis.

In her death Bloomfield loses one of the most estimable women. She had so many excellent qualities that none knew her but admired and honored her.

Her maiden name was OWEN and she was born in Lawrence County, November 24, 1829; died in Bloomfield, May 5, 1906; aged 76 years, 5 months 11 days.

She was married in 1846 to William HERT, and to this union were born twelve children—six sons and six daughters—six of whom, three sons and three daughters survive their mother. Her companion died in 1875 leaving her for more than thirty years a widow. The surviving children are: James G. HERT and Mrs. Alice FIELDS of this place; Alvin T. HERT, of Louisville; K. O. HERT and Mrs. Frank WELLS, of Indianapolis; and Mrs. Harold L. ARNOLD of Mackinac, Michigan.

About the time of her marriage she came to make her home in Greene County—and this county was home continuously until her death, residing at Owensburg until 1887, and since that year she had lived in Bloomfield.

For a number of years she had made her home with her son, James G. HERT, but the past winter she spent with her daughter, Mrs. Alice FIELDS.

She became a member of the Christian church at an early age and remained a faithful believer in its doctrines and a loyal supporter of the Master’s cause until she was called from her earthly labors. The story of her life is a story of devotion to her home and her family and of loyalty to the church of her choice. It was in these two institutions—the home and church—that her graces shone out pre-eminently.

During the last four or five years she had been in failing health and had become quite frail and it was only by the most nursing and attention that her life was sparred so long. Though her bodily faculties had failed she retained her mental faculties until the very end. She was a woman of superior intelligence and even after she became confined to her room she still retained a keen interest in the church and in the affairs of the community.

When she went to bed Friday evening she was apparently as well as usual but in the after part of the night the family was aroused and her condition was so serious that a physician was summoned. But the Angel of Death had called and at seven oÂ’clock she peacefully passed away as if falling to sleep.

The remains lay in state at the residence of Mrs. Alice FIELDS Monday afternoon from 2 to 6 oÂ’clock and were viewed by many friends. The remains were then taken to the residence of J. G. HERT where the funeral services were held Tuesday morning at ten oÂ’clock conducted by the Rev. H. A. BLAKE and the remains ere laid to rest in the Bloomfield cemetery.

The floral offerings were profuse and among the most beautiful ever seen in Bloomfield.

The pallbearers were W. W. BOGY, E. W. CARPENTER, F. M. DUGGER, J. W. GRAHAM, O. F. HEROLD and Allen WILLIAMS.

The out-of-town relatives here to attend the funeral were her children and members of her immediate family—Mr. and Mrs. A. T. HERT of Louisville; Mr. and Mrs. Frank WELLS and K. O. HERT and Stanley FIELDS, of Indianapolis; and Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. ARNOLD, of Mackinac, Mich; also the following other relatives and friends; Mr. and Mrs. Vinson V. WILLIAMS, John W. OWEN, and sister, Miss Myra OWEN, and Mrs. William M. DOBBINS, of Bedford; James M. MCDOWELL and daughter Lena, of Linton; and Miss Belle OWENS, of Mitchell.

P.S. Would you mind creating a separate photo request for Wulf REGAN? It helps me keep track of which memorials I need to upload photos for. Thanks so much!

Find A Grave Photo Request / Helen REGAN
Hi, I'm happy to fulfill your Find A Grave request to photograph the headstone of Helen REGAN at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA. Because there are more than 100 open requests for this cemetery, please call the cemetery's office at 310-836-5500 and get the specific plot number of the grave--I can't go to their office and ask for the locations of 100+ graves! :-)

Once you've got the location, message it to me and I'll go take the picture as soon as I can.

I will be heading to the cemetery this Sunday so if I get your location information by then, I will be happy to post your photos then.

Bartholomew Riblet
There is no Bartholomew Riblet listed in Erie Cemetery Association's database, and since he didn't die in Erie, I believe that this is an incorrect listing. I suggested to the creator of the memorial that they delete it.

Margaret Anna Vouspender

Please excuse my delay in responding.

I went to the cemetery office (now at St. Mary, our Lady Queen of Parish). There is no record of a Margaret Anna Vouspender. Is there another name or spelling.

Good morning,

I was at the Bethel Cemetary and I took pictures of the headstone. Its fading from age but I took several pictures. I would like to send them directly to you instead of posting them to the page. They need to be darkened? fiddled with so they are more legible and because this isn't a memorial of mine I don't really feel comfortable doing it myself. This way you can do what you want with them. If you aren't happy with them at all maybe the next time I am out near Bethel I can try again. Let me know what you would like.
