Could you please send this memorial back to me? It's a duplicate that I have to delete. Thanks and sorry.

RE: Transfer of Memorials
Hi! I sent probably about 200 memorials. How many would you like to take care of? I don't want to overwhelm you. :-) But I would like to send some more if I could. Last night as I was sending them, I started working on one of them and took 3 hours putting him with his family, etc. This is why I need to let them go lol. I just don't have the time but I can't help myself. Have a great day and thanks again!!

RE: Transfer of Memorials
Oh wow thanks! I will always still take the picture requests for people but the maintaining of the memorials is getting to be too much. I would love to send a bunch to you! I'll start on it later this evening. Thanks!

Woodbury Co. Bates photo
Good evening, I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting place of many "Old Soldiers" who had ties to Vermont. Henry Bates is one such patriot. May I use the photo you contributed to his Find A Grave memorial page, to post on the Vermont Civil war site? ( You would receive credit for this.

Thank you for your consideration.

Thank You
Thank you for trying to fill my photo request for Mary J. Cruickshank in the Floyd Cemetery. Since there was no gravestone for Mary, I have removed my request. I appreciate your time and effort very much.

I wanted to get back to you on this one. It still could be two separate people. This is what I found out about Section CD from the directory...

CD is Section C, which is not marked on the maps for some reason. If you look at the Floyd map in the book, it is the thing that looks like an island at the end of Section B. The D is row D; row A starts toward the curved end, just beyond the 2 pie-shaped areas next to Section B.

So, there is a possibility that it is two separate people. And the directory does list them both. That said, the records for Floyd aren't the best. So, I will continue to look into this. Thank you for the head's up.

It is very strange that they have CD listed as the section in the directory. I am going to reach out to my contact at the cemetery and see what that possible could be. The records for Floyd are a bit messy and it may be that this is a duplicate memorial. But I will find out for sure and let you know.

Please remove the photo from Chris Delfs memorial. I have the directory for Floyd Cemetery and according to the directory both Chris and Christian are buried in Floyd. And the sections listed are what is listed in the directory. I will look into the section further next week, but as it is right now, there should be two separate memorials.

I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much I appreciate your taking time to answer my request. I live in Colorado and my trips to Iowa are far a few between. I didn't realize that my Great Aunt LaVonne was also buried here.

Thanks again!

Virginia and Kim,

Thank you for your work! Should you find yourself in the area of Lebanon Springs, Columbia County, New York, I would love any information on an ancestor named Thankful Amanda Magaw. What I find on Ancestry states that she was born there, that her parents are unknown, but that her father was possibly a sea captain lost at sea. I've also read that she was taken in by a Reverenc Pratt and his two sisters. Not much to go on, and I have been trying for years to learn more.
If anyone has information or suggestions, I'd be grateful. Thanks to all who help!

Thanks for accepting the edits -- I am done going over the memorials -- still have a few pictures to put back up and then we will have it done. Hope we don't run into another person like her!

Hi Kim,
I am sorry, I can't transfer this memorial to you because I do not manage it. You will need to contact the person who does. Several of my own family members were born and or died in Collinsville as well. I don't know what avenues you have tried to find information, but Texas does have death certificates online for some years going back. At the bottom of the death certificate there is usually a cemetery listed, that is where I try to start my searches. Please let me know if you find out that they are buried in Collisville and if I can get back up there, I will be happy to take more pictures for you. I live about 1 1/2 hours away, but I do get up there occasionally. Happy Hunting!

You know it didn't occur to me to let you know that the daughter of Jim & Irene {Swaim} McGraw - Ardis - is still living; We're in contact with her & her family - Ardis is now 80 and she also (like us!) does genealogy research. She lives in Colorado. If you'd like to contact her, send us a private email and I'll send you her contact info - our personal email is

Ardis may be very interested in the McGraw family info you have!

RE: Hayes Scott McGraw
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Jerry & I are on the road......finally got access to wireless! No, we're not related to Hayes McGraw but his brother Jim McGraw was married to Jerry's paternal Great Aunt Irene Louise Swaim - Irene was the sister of Jerry's paternal grandmother, Eva G. {Swaim} Clark. Jerry says he personally knew both Uncle Jim & Aunt Irene but never met any of the other McGraw family members. I read the info on Hayes McGraw's memorial - he sounds like he was quite an impressive gentleman!

Well we're now in Seattle - Thanksgiving with family today & football tomorrow (Univ of WA vs WA State Univ) - one of our sons coaches the def backs for Univ of WA so we attend all home games:)

Take care & good luck on finding some McGraw family members! And Happy Thanksgiving!
