And I just saw that you had left edits on his page in Topeka cemetery. I live in Berryton, just outside Topeka, and am a volunteer at the Kansas State Historical Society's archives. Unless you already have his obit, I can look for it and send it to his page.

Thanks for the edits and the links to the info about Elizabeth Goddard. I accepted the edits, and added a note to her page in the Cherokee, Kansas cemetery. Now I'll see if I can find her husband.

Joanna Wolcott
Hi Janice,

I just wanted to let you know that I deleted my memorial for Joanna [75298733] and put in the edits to the other memorial's [113332162] owner so that they can link her to her parents. The newer one had the actual burial place and a picture so it is just easier to delete mine than try to get a merge.

Thanks for noticing the duplication.

Ed

Ina Mae Stever Hunt
Hi Janice

Yes I believe you are correct.
I've checked her documents and yes 1884 are her birth records, but just to be sure I checked the person who was born right after her on the 22nd and he was born in 1884 as per his headstone which you can see on memorial #38822256
Thank you for this correction and for finding it.

I agree, for the most part I can't complain about those that I've come in contact with on this site but there are those that don't want to help, change or transfer to a family

Thank You for bringing that to my attention, so often the 3's & 5's on older headstones are tricky to differentiate! Jim

Fanny Warfield Winchell
Janice I have added all the information to the memorial that I created for Ann Frances "Fanny" Warfield Winchell. It appears the headstone was never carved for her death date Dec 11 or Dec 1 depending upon the source referenced. I don't know where her child is buried. I am guessing in Blandford with her mother. The records in Granville are a mess. I have been working on the cemeteries in Granville for 4 years and the town records are a real challenge. Most of the records seem to have been created from the headstones. Sexton records for the earlier cemeteries are incomplete. I hope the information I posted helps your research. I have no idea about the other memorial because it is for Wariner not Warfield. It may be another person in the cemetery. I can't speak for Beckie Cross and her source. As you can see from the photo on mine it is indeed Warfield. and most likely not the same person as Beckie's.

In regards to the duplicates. The lower number tells you who made the first memorial. If a duplicate is found (sometimes the search does not always work with Find A Grave or someone may be inventorying a whole cemetery, or sometimes it is just a mistake) then you hit the edit button upper right of the memorial and send a polite message to the person(s) that created the duplicate letting them know about the possible duplicate. I say possible error because I just had a member rudely let me know I created a duplicate and he did not read the death dates. In fact he wanted me to delete the memorial of the son by error. Some of the members are polite, others are quite rude. I appreciate your note and I have contacted the other members involved. That does not mean that they will make adjustments. Thanks again for the information.

Dawna
RE: Thompson vs. Thomson
I agree that, in times past, spellings varied from record to record. I have found over 100 spellings and misspellings my own maiden surname

However, because Find-a-Grave is supposed to be an index to the graves and, in this case, the gravestones show the surname to be Thomson, that is the spelling that should be used here.

Though this branch of the family seems to have elected to use Thomson spelling, you may continue to keep your personal records however you wish.
