Hi John, yep, that was odd. I re-added Gisela as Louis' wife. I'll assume everything is ok now unless I hear from you. Regards, Nadeen

Hi John, rec'd. your msg. about the spousal duplicate, but I'm confused as I only see one for Geisel. So, did I put in a duplicate? Or did you and you deleted yours? Regards, Nadeen

Richard C. LeRoy
George LeRoy
George LeRoy is a 4th great uncle to me and his brother Henry W. LeRoy is my 4th great-grandfather. Henry W. moved to Cold Springs, KY. I have the least amount of information on George LeRoy as I do on the rest of Daniel LeRoy's children. Again, thank you for transferring management of Daniel to me. I carry on...Richard LeRoy

John, would it be possible to have Judge Daniel LeRoy's memorial transferred to me? I am his fifth great-grandson. I have ancestors and descendants of his that I would like to link through Find-A-Grave.

Thank You, Richard C. LeRoy 47040363

RE: Violet Katherine Gimm-Felton
Hi John
No, She wasn't adopted by Felton but in the early 20th century it was a very serious point of shame to have and to be an illegitimate child. To cover, her mother called her a Felton after she married him and and that way she matched the rest of the family. She wasn't legally a Felton, though. Her birth certificate lists "father unknown" although her mother did know who it was and had a picture of him that she showed. I never saw it buy my mom did and said grandma looked just like him, more like her dad than her mom, Margaret. As for the "Violette" thing, rather than "Violet", it was just an attempt to boost self esteem and be fancy. My grandpa tried that too at one point and the name on the census that year was Lovette instead of Lovett. I guess somehow the extra "e" made it better. :-) I don't know if anyone in her family threw it up in her face that she was illigetimate but I don't think so, she never said anyone did. But I know she carried the guilt of it always, anyway.
Back then it was a very big deal. Nowadays, it doesn't seem to even be noticed.
Yes, she was born in 1906. The social security office had her year of birth wrong but she wasn't going to argue with them. The started sending her check a year before she expected it. They also have the month of her death wrong on the Social Security Death Index site. They say it was October. She died in November, here at home with hospice. She and my grandpa both are buried at Sylvan Abbey Cemetary here in Clearwater, Fl. Nice to hear from you. I haven't worked on family history in quite a while. Something happened to my files and I lost everything. I don't think it was a virus because I haven't had any other problems, really. I had my program and tree stored on a portable drive, thinking that was the safest way to go. Guess not. :-) I'm slowly trying to rebuild my tree in what time I have to work on it. Years and years of info and family stories and "rememberances" gone and no way to replace them.

RE: Granger Family
I have just found the Grangers in Illinois, I found Laurant in Maternity Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery. I am a descendant of his. So I imagine that we are distant cousins. I was very surprised to find him and his family listed in that cemetery as from what we had found to date we thought he and Marie were in Port Royal. I love finding new cousins!
