Homer Fitch's Murder
Jennifer, I have an article on the murder of Homer. If I click on "Edit", can I add it as a photo? It is very long!

James Harrison Fitch
I wasn't meaning to be rude: I was just trying to point out that I didn't think this Homer's dad was James Harrison Fitch, who has a son James Harlan Fitch. I know how hard it is to verify all the info that is out there. I was trying to find more about James Harrison having a son that was murdered. That' when I realized it wasn't the right James H Fitch. The marriage record & censuses confirmed this. Since I live in the same area as James Harrison Fitch, it helps! Sorry, I came across rude: just trying to help!

James Harrison Fitch
Jennifer, I think you are mistaken on this Homer Fitch being the son of James Harrison Fitch of Calloway County, Ky. There are lots of James H Fitches, and I do believe that you have the wrong one. On James Harrison Fitch's marriage certificate in Calloway Co, Ky, it says it is his 1st marriage. Besides James Harrison Fitch could not be living in 2 totally different geographical locations at the same time. Check the censuses!

RE: Headstone
Memorial Headstones have been approved to me placed at old Wright City cemetery. Sorry took so long. When your ready to put in place all we have to do is go by city and they will log placement of headstone within the boundaries. V/R Billy and Kerri

Thank you for your kind words. When I stumbled on to Findagrave almost 8 years ago, I was so happy to have found my long, lost uncle, that I decided Findagrave was a great place for all the records I had accumulated in my over 50 years of research. I have met wonderful people on my journey, even some relatives, and if my research has helped others, then I am doubly rewarded. Happy Hunting! Donna

I have determined you are not biologically related to Julia Laughlin but only by marriage to her 2nd husband David Anderson. She had no issue with him. I am related to her and will not transfer her memorial to you. If you have anything to add to her memorial you can send it through the edit button. Thank you.

Oh Believe me it was my Honor to do so, My wife and I looked at every grave stone, and I know for sure each and every marked stone has been photoed. As far as checking with the cemetery you may want to check with The Lauderdale co. department of Archives and history, they have a list at the cemetery of names and causes of death that has been compiled, I am going to try and get a copy. As far as a marker, you and your family would not have to pay for one as he is considered "An American Veteran" and it is payed for by the veterans administration. But the problem you will have I fear is finding out for sure where in the cemetery he is buried. Best of Luck and please keep me up to date.

Headstone
I would call City Hall in Wright City, Just ask could there be a stone set in the old Cemetery. It would have to be placed somewhere close to the road. Make it a in Memory of headstone. Burial Plot on back as Unknown within cemetery. This would be my suggestion. When it comes time, and you get the go ahead me and my wife would love to be there to help or dedicate it. Kind Regards Billy & Kerri

Spoke with the City Hall about the Old Wright city Cemetery. I asked if they had any burial records for the cemetery. Sorry, but they do not for the old one, they do have it for the Joe Slater cemetery. We did the best we could on this. Kind Regards Bill and Kerri

You requested a Alvin Gaulding Jr. There is also a William that doesn't have a photo. I'm happy to get both if you could call and get the plot info.
The office is very helpful, I just try not to go up there every other day myself

Jenny,
I prefer that family members have their own family to take care of. Know what you've run into. We have run into someone that won't even give us my husband's father. It's been a nightmare.

Of course you can use the photo; it's not really mine, it most likely was with his obit. I think Eureka is going the way of a 'ghost town' and that's why we can't find anything on it. Most likely a farming community. It still exists, but a community vs. a city.

Good going to you for keeping your family history alive.
