Mary Love
Btw, it is also possible that she was interred in the same vault as James Scoggns.

I did see you requested a photo of his vault. I will take that for you. However, I should warn you that some of these vaults are in extremely poor shape.

Joseph Mann
Mary Love

I am having trouble finding the burial location for Mary Love. I can find no record of her burial at Cypress Grove. However, Greenwood Cemetery is sometimes referred as Fireman's Cemetery.

There is a Mary A Love buried at Greenwood, but her date of burial is 1941.

There is a James Scoggins (died 1904, age 63) buried in vault 1679. Could that be her first husband? I did not find a Joseph Love buried at either Cypress Grove or Greenwood.

I tried looking under both her husbands' names (only finding Scoggins), and her parents names, with no luck.

Can you please call the FCBA (504-482-8983). They can look in their archive records to locate her location.

I'm sorry to report there is no stone for Robert Dugan. I have a photo of the general plot area. Would you like that added to the memorial?

I have searched for the remaining unphotographed markers, but there doesn't appear to be a legible marker for either of your requests. I did photograph the area where there are several unmarked stones amidst the others. I can add that as a photo, not a grave photo, if you would like, or I can send it to you. Just let me know. Mainly, I wanted to let you know someone has looked for them.

Thanks for trying. As I told you I have no idea where they were buried. She was such a stickler for family I would have thought she would want to be buried close to her dad and brothers. I appreciate your trying. You're a blessing for us that can't get around.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This headstone is of my grandfather. I have another favor to ask. My Aunt & Uncle McAuley may be buried in the same cemetery. They died in Indio but lived many years in Blythe. My Aunt is John's youngest child of 14 children. The memorials to my aunt and uncle are: 125082232 and 125082167. I would appreciate it if you would check Palo Verde and see if they are in Blythe.

Peter Mack photo request
After visiting Tohee Cemetery in Logan Co, Okla, I'm sad to report that it is in bad shape. Many of the stones have been knocked over, and are face down. Being extremely heavy we were not able to get them back up or even rolled over. I'm so sorry.

Fredie Nolan b1917 d-1918
Pat Foster,

I have little Fredie W Nolan Riverside County CA death certificate. (No town/City was stated on the form). The death certificate stated the child was buried at "Blythe lum" on 29 Oct 1918. The undertaker was Ale Fillboch with a Blythe CA address. The family neighbor J A Knight was the death record informant with a Blythe CA address. The family doctor had the same address.

For unknown reasons. Mr Knight choose to only identified the child's father on the death certificate as Fred Nolan born in CA. The mother's name was left blank on the form. (It is a long drawn out story... but I was able to prove with hard official evidence, the mother was Ila Eulalah Ricks born 1890 Alabama and raised in Mississippi).

The form stated that the family had lived at their residence 30-days preceeding their childs death. He was born 27 Oct 1917 somewhere in CA (at his home) and died 28 Oct 1918 at 8:50 PM CA (at home). The child died from the Spanish Flue and Phemmonia. He was treated for 10-days (at home) preceeding his death. He was 1-yr 0-months 1-day old.

Both his father and mother were known to use various spellings of their given and surname on official records. (Fredrick Henery Nolan/Noland, Fredrick H Nolan/Noland, Fred Nolan/Noland, etc). (Or Ila G, Ila E, Ila Eulalah, Eulalah, Eulah, etc). Little Fredie full name was Fredie William Nolan and most likely had other spellings also.

The child's death certificate not only has the State of California seal on it... but also the California Department of Public Health seal in the opposit corner. This was the first time I had seen something like this on a CA death certificates.

On the 1920 Palo Verde CA census, the Nolan family is shown as renters. (Fred & Ila Nolan, 3-Nolan children and 3-Rose 1/2 siblings). A couple of lines above their names is John A Knight & family (the death record informant for little Fredie). This indicated that the family had not relocated. Instead, the part of Blythe CA they had lived in... formally became known as Palo Verde after little Fredie 1918 death and after the 1919 birth of his sister. (This may be a hint to the location of his burial site).

When checking the 1919 birth record for the last Nolan child born, I discovered she also was born in Blythe exactly one year to the day that her little brother Fredie had died. She too, had no town/city on her certificate. Just Riverside County plus a Blythe CA address.

A findagrave friend had located Fredie's 1918 death & his sister's 1919 birth records on a private offline database. With the dates and location, I was able to order certificates from the State. The cause of little Fredie's death and age matched family stories exactly. These records can not be found online.

Because the Nolan family were renters plus my grandmother's greatest fear (in life) was that her infant son Fredie would be forgotten by family members... I figured he most likely was buried in an unmarked grave. She grieved over this child until the day she died in 1966. She never stopped telling his story. And, she kept his birthday presents. I figured, she most likely found someway to mark the child's grave but time may have distroyed her handmade marker.

On the positive side, the death certificate proves Little Fredie had existed on this earth and had a family that loved him very much. After decades of searching, I feel very blessed that I was able to obtain his death record. It would have been nice to find his grave. Since the child was born at home in CA so he had no birth record. It is... what it is.

I shared the information with the Nolan side of the family that had also been searching for decades.

Once again... Thank You from my heart for trying to locate this child's grave.

I have located a Elsie Bell Neff from the cemetery records but there is no information as to where she is buried. There is a F. Henry Neff that is the husband of Sarah that is buried in this cemetery. Is he any relation to Elsie?

Milford Cemetery requests
Milford Cemetery old section was surveyed in 1943 and re-surveyed in 2001. There is a map and alphabetical index of all remaining tombstones. This grave is not on the map/index. This does not mean the person is not buried here, but that there is no tombstone remaining. The picture posted is the map/index.
