Memorial #105782645 & #105780636
The Find A Grave section under FAQ, Membership/Signing In, “What is a photo request?” mentions: “Many cemetery offices will only provide that information (exact grave location to photograph a possible marker) to relatives of the deceased and will not assist photo volunteers with finding the grave location.”

There’s a reason more than 50 requests have not been realized for Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay, WI. I suggest you contact the office manager, Mary Lemirande, at (920) 432-6077 or email her at to learn the exact location of Mary Persons #105782645 and Hiram Persons #105780636, especially which Park (section) and names of individuals buried on each side (N,S,E,W) of your individual. Then, go back to your “Request A Photo” and add those “notes” so a photo volunteer can at least take a photo of the grassy plot if no marker is present. The cemetery does not usually have a record if or when a marker was placed at a grave site. Without the specifics, the only other suggestion I have is to remove your request. Thank you!

Katherine White
Isabell Avery photo request
Greetings - I fulfilled the photo request for Isabell - she is in Mount Olive cemetery, Newstead, Erie Co., NY. Her husband Richardson (died 1847) is on the same stone. Issue is he is listed as dying elsewhere and has a military marker in that cemetery too. Not sure what you want me to do.

Cramer Potter, Royal Palm Cem.
Hi Mark, My husband and myself do a lot of photo requests at Royal Palm Cemetery. We have been trying to locate the grave of Cramer Potter for a while, especially after reading his dedication to our country. We asked in the office and found that his grave is located in Block 347-3-1. We found a Katherine Potter's grave in that vicinity, but sadly have not found Cramer's. There's a possibility that he does not have a grave stone. What we can do is take a photo of the area where his grave is, or you can contact the office at 727-321-6316 and ask to have a marker flag put at Cramer's burial spot. Either way - please let us know so we can either keep an eye out for the marker flag, or take a photo as is.
We really would love to fulfill this photo request.

Photo requests for St. Pats, Bay City
I was unable to fill these requests because the office lady is very unhelpful about locating graves. She hates a list so I have found it easiest for the individual who is requesting the photo to find out the location. I have an index of existing tombstones that some nice ladies did for the Bay County GENWEB but that's for the old St. Pats where most burials are from the early 1900s. Sorry!

Gale Olsson McHale
Tracy at Holy Sepulchre, Rochester, NY
I went to the cemetery this morning and took a photo of Daniel Tracy's headstone which he shares with (who I believe is most likely) his wife, Theresa B and daughter, Rosemary.

When I saw the photo request for Terese M, it didn't make sense that she was born in 1886 and died in 2004 as you have on her memorial. That headstone has 1912-2004 as the dates (as you'll see). I attached my photo of Theresa to the request you posted for Terese (1886-1930) and created a new memorial for Terese (1912-2004). If the latter is actually Daniel's wife or related to them, I will be glad to transfer the memorial I made.

Finally, don't know if they're related either but ... Patrick, Mary, and Margaret Tracy are located in a plot very close to the Tracys you were looking for. I am creating memorials for them as well as posting photos to those memorials.

Stevens and Green

I uploaded your photo requests today for Julia Stevens and her sister-in-law, Anna Green Stevens in Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

I also created memorials and/or uploaded photos for others who were buried with them (there are two different lots where they are buried).

Buried with Julia were her mother, Hannah, but also her father, Asaph, and a brother, Will (William).

Buried with Anna and her husband, George, was their daughter, Georgia Elizabeth Stevens Vealey, and her husband, John D. Vealey. Also in this plot were buried Anna's brothers, John Green and George "Georgie" Green. Georgie's stone is very worn. I notice that you have Jan. 9, 1876 as the death date, which matches state records. A transcription of this stone from the 1940s, however, states he died on JUNE 9, 1876. I am not sure which is accurate, but perhaps next time I am in the cemetery office I will ask to see the burial card, which might shed some light.

It is possible that Farmer and Elizabeth Green are buried here as well, but there were no headstones for them. Again, the burial card would confirm their locations.

Hope this helps.

Emma Crawford Hotaling - 96476378
Hi Mark,

I just suggested parent links for Emma via the edit tab and want to suggest a reason for her mother's name not being 'Emma' but 'Mary Ann' instead.

I've found all but one of the federal and state census sheets for James and Mary Ann Persons Crawford, and on every one she is listed as 'Mary' or 'Mary A'.

Only thought I had was the initials 'M A' for 'Mary Ann' caused her to be called 'Emma'. Weak at best, I know.

Charlotte Potter Bump
Charlotte Potter Bump is my 6th great grandmother.
I am researching to find support documentation on
her marriage to William Bump. I found the Potter
Family genealogy. But I would like to find church
records. I would also like to prove her death date.
Do you know of any family bibles??
I found articles in the probate of her father Benjamin
Potter in Daily Albany Argus issue Sept 30, 1852.
The name is listed as next of kin of Anna J Coburn
Hayden, daughter of Julia Ann Potter and Loren Coburn
granddaughter of Benjamin Potter.

Persons Family
Hi Mark, I too have been working on my Persons Family line. As I go back to Harrsion G. Persons and his father Elias Persons, I know there must bea a connection to Uriah Persons. I just can find it. The all lived in the same towns in Chautuaga County New York. Do you know if they are connected? Also Alonzo Persons, son of Uriah. He was Appointed Postmater by President Grant. Do you have a picture of him? If not I have one I am going to post.

Emery 1959
Derward Emery
Well, I had the lady who found the info on Derward's burial info transfer the memorial to me, then saw that you had used the info. So, I'll delete mine, but request that the following corrections be made on your memorial: Under "notes" paragraph 2 please correct the last word to "Clark". Under research notes" last paragraph please delete, as we have located final resting place.

Richard Bailey
RE: Persons Cemetery
GPS coordinates for the cemetery are:
Latitude 44.313233
Longitude -72.553835

The address is 680 Jacobs Road, East Montpelier, VT

The owner is glad to show it to people, but anyone visiting would need to stop at the house for permission. He would not appreciate anyone wandering around searching in his back yard.

As the author of the biography you sent is Maud Ellen Foster did you obtain permission from her to post the biography? She owns the copyright to the article and it cannot be posted without her permission.

Please see the FAQs.

Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
You should not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary

Terry Gosselin
josephine pangborn
Hi, While updating the Maple Hill cemetery in Cadillac, I found Josie Pangborn buried here too. Her husband Charles is in the same row as she although they are not side by side. There is one for Charles (as someone took the photo already). I see you show a stone for her in this cemetery too. So not sure which location she is actually buried in, or even if there is a stone located in Maple Hill or not. I have entered her in, so if you put in a photo request, then someone should be able to get the answer. Thank you. Terry

Persons Headstone Requests
Hi Mark - I did a little more digging regarding the Persons headstone photos you requested. I found a "Juli Person", "wife of Orrin", "died 6-14-1885" in Block 25 ... I think she may be your July Persons. Will go in search of her soon. Maybe Ida and Infant will be in the same area. Sheryl

RE: Mary Persons
Hi Mark,

I still wish you would take down the spouse link, because it isn't correct. He was cheating on his wife with her. That doesn't make them common law marriage. He was still married to his wife, who outlived him and is in his will as well, and you can't be married to two people at once. On your page you describe yourself as sticking to facts and I just think you are totally going against your own principles here. This is meant as no disrespect towards you. You have done wonderful genealogical work. However, listing Mary Persons as Jones Ordway's wife is so wrong.

jones ordway
Though Mary Persons was Jones Ordway's mistress and companion, she was not his spouse. It would be better to not list it that way, since its not really true. Just letting you know, because I have people writing to me questioning it and I can't really blame them. I don't agree with listing her as his spouse either.

Mary Persons
Hi Mark, I am the person who created the memorial for Mary Persons, mistress of Jones Ordway. I have had some people writing to me stating that Mary Person was not the spouse of Jones Ordway, and they are correct, as Jones and Mary were never married. I didn't create that family link though, so I can't change it.

Irene Bennett
Hi Mark

I've just approved a change you made for Irene Bennett who was my husbands Grandmother. Thanks! Isn't it funny how I find myself entering all kinds of stuff fir people I don't know but fail to enter for those close to us. I guess is because well "I know that, I don't need to add it". !

Anyway wondering if you have any other connection with Irene? She was the best grandmother you can imagine.

Thanks again

wondering ???
I am researching the family of Parsons. Am curious to know if this lineage is related to yours, "Persons", as most of the time it is a simple transcript error by the census taker when being recorded. Having said that, a lot of the times Parsons was indeed changed to Persons on some of my people ... even Pierson.
Thank you for a moment of your time for a response. If easier to correspond by email (

Rebecca Geiger
Request for National Memorial Falls Church
Hi, my name is Rebecca Geiger and I am trying to take a picture of the
gravestone of your loved one per your request on Find A Grave website.
However the cemetary is going to charge me a $200 geneology fee to
gather the plot information for the list of pepople.

If you were to call for your individual person, the cemetary would
however not charge the fee, and then I would happily go and get the
picture for you.

This is my personal email, so please send the plot information back
asap and I will go and take the picture.

Phone number for cemetary per site: (703) 560-4400

RE: Emery Family in Flint
My Emery Family tree is as follows: Carl E Emery (Dad); Paul B Emery (Granddad); Derward Emery (Great GD); John B Emery (GG GD); Barnard Emery (GGG GD); Bernard Emery (GGGG GD); and Johannes Emmerich (GGGGG GD). So, John B., his wife Mary Markell and their children are related to me. Edith Emery (my Great grand mother), her infant, her daughter Ruth and her aunt (Leola Clark Sevener) are my relatives. The Case Emery's are cousins and I do really need them transferred. Aren't you related to them via John L. Emery? Thank you
