Hi Mrs. Oakes, I am assuming that you are researching the family for ancestral purposes.
I found a few internet sites which may be of use to you.

Take care,

Thanks so much for the transfer of Phebe! I didn't want to ask as she's part of the Stoutenburgh clan as well, so what a lovely surprise. :-)

We knew him as Brother D. He would come by our church in Missouri and preach. Do you have any pictures of his old car with the signs on it ..."REPENT"? I want to write a blog post about him.

Thanks for posting his picture.

Mary Stoutenburg
It looks like Mary's maiden name was Bliven. I found this on the LDS website:
1855 New York State Census, Family No. 399:
Eliza Bliven Head F 46
Abigail Fuller Mother F 88
Mary Stontenburgh Child F 25
Charles Bliven Child M 15
Green Bliven Child M 9
Eveline Bliven Child F 4
Any thoughts? Sincerely, Kathy

Thanks so much for getting back to me. After looking through things, such as they are, I have only found mention of Eva Stoutenburgh of Maryland Hill (in the abstract of the 1868 marriage to George Benedict). Truth to tell, I'm not sure now who her parents were. I'd been using this 1860 census entry (Maryland, Otsego Co., NY) for her: Household No. 67: Eliza Blivin F 50 New York; Mary Stoutenburgh F 30 New York; Gunn Blevin U 14 New York; Abigail Fuller F 93 Connecticut; Eveline Stoutenburgh F 9 New York...
And this 1870 census entry (again Maryland, Otsego Co., NY) for her: Page 193, Dwelling 139, Family No. 167:
Green Bliven, age 24, Farmer, b. NY
Orline Bliven, age 25, Keeping house, b. NY
Edwin Bliven, age 2, b. NY
Samuel Bliven, age 3/12, b. NY
Dwelling 140, Family No. 168:
George Benedict, age 23 Farmer, b. NY
Eva Benedict, age 20, b. NY
May Benedict, age 5/12, b. NY
Mary Sloutenburgh, age 40, Keeping house, b. NY
Eliza Spencer, age 62, b. NY
I've changed the Find A Grave site to indicate her parents were Abram and Mary Woodin, since you seem certain. Does any of this look familiar? There definitely seems to be a connection with the Bliven family. Sincerely, Kathy

Evelyn Stoutenburg Benedict
Thanks so much for getting in touch with me! I have the 1880 census entry showing the family in Schenevus, with Eva's mother Mary living with them then. I didn't put down a source for the marriage other than the newspaper "Schenevus Valley News". I guess I'll have to try and find the newspaper article in case that's where I took the information from, and then again I could also have made a mistake. I'll keep looking. In the meantime, could you let me know if you have specifics on her parents being Abram and Mary (Woodin) Stoutenberg? I would really like my Find A Grave memorial to be accurate and would be happy to change it. Thanks again. Sincerely, Kathy

RE: Jenkins Family Members
Since you know this child was a still born child they named. You should consider a memorial for her or make a note on her mother's memorial about her.

RE: Jenkins Family Members
From what I've read of your postings. I think I would have loved to have met them. Even though we are not a direct line connection. They did touch my father's side of the family. Thank you for responding. I went to the WA state archives website & didn't find a death record for the baby. Do you know if there is one. I do my best to document the babies as best as I can. Thank you again for responding, so many people don't.

Jenkins Family Members
Hi! Mrs. Oakes,
You created memorials for the following people:
Clyde Lorraine Jenkins #79660310, his brother Noble, & Noble's wife Isabella.

I touch this family through their mother Emma Burns who married Garrett Eliott Jenkins. Emma's sister Sarah married William L. Rockett. Sarah & Wm's daughter, Alice Laura or Luara ALice (Rockett)Dietz. She married one of my 2nd Great-Grand Uncles, Charles Burrett Dietz. My question is this.
The Emmalou O. on the family nitche. I haven't been able to connect her to her parents. Do you know who this Emmalou's parents are? At first I thought she could be Clyde's wife, since Isabella is noted as Noble's wife.
You did an excellant job on their memorials, & I thnk you for posting them so I could find them.

Re: Allen Shaffer & "Millie" Galloway
Since you are interested in doing the history of this family, I just thought I would mention that Aubrey Leland Shaffer, son of the above, said his father died in 1872 and mother died in 1876. He also spelled his mother's name "Samelda Maroa Galloway". Granted, this is in conflict with the gravestones and obituaries, but you might want to look into it. I only met Aubrey once. His wife, Julia, was a 1st cousin of mine.

RE: Elizabeth H. Hammond
Do you happen to know any history or stories about her or her husband? I'm having trouble finding any information on them or their parents. William Oscar, which I believe was one of her sons, was my great great grandfather.
